Berserker Predator Attempt

Are you painting your suit with just strictley acrylic? If you are that stuff is going to chip like old nail polish. :) Not a pretty site. Your gaunts are.. gorgoes. Very smooth an sleek looking. I like the progress your making so far. Keep up the strong work you have. Im looking forward to seeing more :)

I hear ya on the Acrylic paint chipping. Fortunately I haven't run into that problem. When I sprayed the primer on the suit and then applied the base coat was a latex based paint, it seems to have kept the acrylic paint from chipping at all.

The same thing happened with my gloves. Now, haveing said that, if i rub the gloves and suit hard enough, I will get it to come off but I dont forsee that happening.

The real test will come when I make the chest, shoulder, thigh and shin pieces.

All in all it has worked out pretty good so far. :D

Thanks for the compliments.

Ok...so I just updated the Gauntlet post in this thread with pics of the Berserker Blade Gauntlet. hope you like it. The gauntley seems to be a little darker than the other but it's only due to the lighting.

Enjoy.

I really liked the detail on your gauntlets. They have a really good shape and a lot of detail for them. I still need to make my right gauntlet. thanks for putting the gradual pictures of it. I will try to do a similar shape.

I also think having the custom look on your single blade actually turned out really well too. :)

I had a question on the acrylic paint that you are using, are you putting that plus a gloss on it or are you just gonna keep the normal acrylic on the latex? I was curious how the acrylic on the latex by itself looking on the skin. It was a little bit hard to see on one of the pictures on the torso.

Lovin the updates mate. I've said it before and I'll say it again, your work is inspiring :)

Actually I only had the Acrylic paint on the latex in those photos. Since then I came to the horrid realization (thanks Atisha) that the Acrylic would crack and chip. (Only if drastically folded or bent).

I have since purchased Pros Aide and and mixed it into the Acrylic paint. Hopefully that will help but I will more than likely give it a semi-gloss coat at the end.

I will have the torso completed soon and have some updated pics to add.

Its all well and good buying highly accurate props and piecing them together - which in itself is hard, but you just have to love virtually sratch built costumes. The gauntlets are looking great, keep up the updates :D

I appreciate it. I like your progress as well. I sent you a PM the other day. Did you get it?

I'm working on the chest piece right now. Can't wait to see your progress.
No bro i didnt get the message but im working on my legs right now i got the chest piece pretty much finished and i just figured out something the other day i was experimenting with some spray foam thats used mainly for sealent and found out that i can use that for some texture for the scales if applied right it gives it this scaly effect which can be painted over when its dried and finished curing so that might help u out a lil bit it worked for me :D

Ok...so it's about 9:40pm Central Time (US) and I have been grinding all day on my Berserker Predator chest piece.

Chest piece foam cut out, measured first. Always cut it a little bigger so trimming wont be a problem.

Out of the oven and formed to fit.

Chest armor foam detail layering, the foam I am using is 8x10 sheets so that explains the multi-colors.

Here is the 2nd layer of foam. I pre-cut all the pieces before layering. I made adjustments as I went.

Now i have added some layering to the shoulder and canon mounts. Coming along nicely.

UPDATE**********

Chest armor details completed. I am personally very proud of this piece. It was very exhausting...LOL....

I tried to get in as much detail as I could make out.

Back of the armor. I like the Berserkers armor because of how sleek the design is.
