the resin printed ones will be cleaner crisper and less clean up than these but I only printed them for size as I’m impatient

I’ve also got my little lathe up and running again (ish ) and I might have a little go at the wheels for the collar !! But my lathe is very temperamental so I’m not holding out much hope on these getting done, I can only try

HERE Is a Good Question for you all... I HAVE the Original "Air Flow Neck Brace" and "Metal Mesh"...
But WHAT IS the "CORRECT HIGHT" for the Center Screw?
AND has anyone done the Center Screw in Metal Yet?

Thanks.

Joe

This could potentially work!

It looks pretty close when you look at the customer images for this color!

This Paint can be gotten at MOST Hardware Stores here in the US for ALOT Cheaper then what they are asking for it on Amazoom! LOL

I actually HAVE this paint and now that I know this is a good "Close" color I will use it on Mine.

Thanks.

Joe

Oh Yes and I wanted to add that on Mine... I removed the Covering and Padding and used the covering to make REAL Black Leather replacements as these will FEEL much better AND LOOK More realistic! AND You won't have an issue trying to get PAINT to stick to the Vinyl covering!

A few builders have made them in metal but can’t remember who the original was plastic and painted silver the height of the screw you can gauge by the amount of thread on show

I know trulife airflow collars are really hard to find, so does anyone know where to find ones that would basically be a clone of it?

Well Naugahyde or Vinyl is very hard to dye. That's why I switched to Black Leather that is made to be warn next to the skin.
It's called "Medical Grade Leather". I used to work at a place making prosthetics and orthotics. So I was able to snag some in black, brown, grey and buff.

I will use the same on the inside with a slight bit of padding.

Joe

I was able to get one from Ben on here. He sold be both the collar AND grill for a really decent price. Will post pics when it's all done, which SHOULD be soon!

Joe
Yeah, I have seen some that look sorta similar to the Trulife one, but none that were close enough. Also can't wait to see your pics!

I have thought of maybe finding someone that could either "3D Print" them OR I have thought about getting some Plastic and seeing if I could "Reproduce" a VERY Close Copy. All I would need is someone to make the "Screw Parts" that I could attach and we would be in SERIOUS Business!

If I could find a BLACK, Heavy Duty Plastic and use Black Leather or Naugahyde for the padded parts and someone ELSE Provided the Screw Parts...?

ANY TAKERS??? :D

Sounds like it would be awesome!

Working progress at the moment
Tried to 3D print them 75% happy but not tried the resin test as yet, trying to get the thread correct is a bit of a chore
THAT would be Awesome! Also we would need to create a "Variant" on the parts where the screw goes. Not sure If I could make that part?
But I KNOW I could do the rest of the Plastic/Nylon part and the Padding.

Please keep me posted. :)

What part do you mean

What part do you mean
The "T" part where the Screw goes. It looks like a Big rounded "T". It's the Upper part of the Collar. It has two rivets in it to attach it to the collar.

Also I see now there is a bottom part for the inner screw shaft too.

Hi everyone
Merry Christmas
Seasons greetings
Or whatever you all celebrate

ive had a very busy and strange year, as most of you have had also

I’ve now got 3 weeks R and R as I work for myself I’ve had to give myself a rest as I’m exhausted
So where better?
in front of my laptop and in the workshop.
Going to try and finish up some unfinished 3D prints and play a little on the Vader reveal
Drawn up and printed some Vader bits in resin for scale before I give them to my buddy for him to turn on the lathe, still WIP but I’m sure they will turn out ok in the end

The tubes in the foam look ok but the foam is not the most accurate I have, when I find the more accurate foam head piece ( in a box somewhere) I will take another picture

The wheels in the LKM connectors are to big and I have re drawn them
My son printed them and I still have to pick them up and place them for sizing, but these should look better
I will give these pieces a quick coat of silver just to see the overall look
