Hey there all, been on a break for a while building a car.
I got a bug to watch BSG 2003 about a month ago and decided I needed to build the model. Finally got one and it’s only a foot long, argh…
So I decided I would take the parts and duplicate them twice the size. I’m two weeks in and this is where I’m at with the head piece. It’s been and going to be extremely tedious work but so far I’m having fun with it.

Wow, I love what you are doing!!! Do you know what scale your model is in?
Many thanks! I’m supposing since the kit is 1/4105 and I’m doubling the size it’s around 1/2000. I originally planned on going 3x bigger but I determined that would be too much. Particularly since I’ve also got the Pegasus which is a 16 inch, and probably gonna do the same with that one it would be too damn big

Great to see this awesome build here as well!

I might be able to 3D print some Vipers in that scale if you are interested

Well hey there dude! I believe I just might be interested in that. Wait till Kris sees this, he’ll tell me to stop being a puss and get my 3D printer out and learn how to use it LOL

That is looking excellent!

I have a half baked Moebius kit on the shelf that I want to get back to as soon as life will allow it and I can tell you although it is small they packed a lot of detail into it, but there are a couple things that are a bit off. The head for example is slightly higher than the body part. If you are interested, here was my fix for that (link).

Looking forward to the next update.

Oh yeah! I appreciate the tips on the head corrections. Also the additional greeblies you did gives me a great guide to follow. Much appreciated my friend

Glad to help out. :)
word of advice, whatever you do, do not use plastic for the armor detail like I did in the begining. It looks great BUT... At least with the glue that I was using, it did not hold very well and peeled off somewhere every time I wasn't being careful enough. Towards the end I started using the thin flash from casting, which worked excellent.

I'm curious what type of glue you were using. If you go with a thin solvent based plastic cement (Tamiya, Tenax, etc.), it should weld the parts together and there should be no delamination of the plates. Unless your base was not styrene?

You know, that’s an excellent idea now that you mention it. I’ve been using the old red tube testors. Your suggestion would certainly be cleaner. Hobbytown stop on the way home

talk about tedious. But it’s coming along to my satisfaction
