Hi all,

this is my first post in the RPF, hope you would like my work.:)

A few weeks ago I start my build of Mikes awesome Battlestar.

First I replaced the launching tubes and opened the Hangarbays for landing lights.

Here some pics.

The inside, ready for the lights.

The open hangarbay detailed

The parts

With primer

The launching tubes and PS stripes for the trench.

To be continued....

Greetings, Hermann

Welcome aboard and congrats on being the first separate build thread of this great looking kit. Too bad I can't see the pics, work has blocked them. But I will check them out at home tonight!

Checked out the pics. Looking good. Can't wait for more updates.

Thanks, Folks :)

More pics? Ok.

Not all knows how the original piece look.

Before:

The main piece is not hollow, I cast it new.

After:

The landing bays. First I would build the complete interior, but you can´t see really much of it, and I need the space for wires etc., so I changed my mind.

The trench and the tubes are too tall. First I removed the tubes. On the edge of the trench is a little step, I sanded it down.

Lets do the work.

Looks not very pretty.

For the tubes I made a master

I need eight of them. Let´s do it in resin.

For the right dimensions of the trench I add Evergreen stripes, 2,5 mm tall, 6,3 mm wide. Match perfect.

The tubes join the bay.

With the upper part of the bay

Before and after.

It´s all dry fitting. Probably I will insert the trench guns. Ok, there is non of them at the Studio Modell, but it will look cool.

Hey Hermann,

Greetings from Nürnberg and Welcome to the forum. your build is looking very nice. I like how you did the launch tubes.

Dry fitting continues.

I drilled out the complete center flight pod connecting Pylon.
Then I insert a 9mm brass rod from one end to the other.

In the Hangar Bay I glued a Piece of Wood as holding for the pod, again with a drilled hole for the 9mm brass rod for the Fiber optics.

More dry Fitting

Check of the alignment of pod and pylons
