Battlestar CIC tables and Hearthstone stuffs!

Hi there!

I found this site by chance looking for some better pictures of the Battlestar Galactica CIC tables. I'm in the process of building a pair for a local pub/theatre! I thought I'd ask if anyone had any good pictures of the tops of the tables as I want to do an under the table light that shines through a plexi/acrylic glass top. From what I've seen it's mostly chart/navigational looking art. But if anyone knows anymore, I'd love to hear it! See attached pictures on progress.

Hey Steve- Its Mark McCoy. Been to the 'pub' a number of times, though doubt you remember. PM me, Id love to help out. Richard had asked me earlier and I didn't have the time that weekend. And Mike J - The pub/ bar is named the "Browncoat Pub and Theater". Named for the rebels in "Firefly", it is more aptly an homage to all things Joss Whedon. Firefly, Buffy, angel, comics, Dr. Who, BSG, with a bit of independent theater thrown in for good measure.

Mike J. Thanks for those! I actually have not seen those last 2! That's a great help.

Hi Mark! Ha. Small world I guess? I don't frequent the Pub, I was a co-worker of Richard B. and he had asked me to take on the project after he saw my work on the Hearthstone box. I just recently met the owner Richard D. I don't know much of anyone there besides them.

So far I've fluted the side paneling and bondo'd as much of the wood grain as I could to eventually get a nice flat coat of paint on (I'm thinking super durable? Oil based? What do you think?). Since the goal is to keep things as thrifty as possible I kept the plywood for the sides, it likes chipping where I fluted(routed) the wood, and the bondo is a lot of work to correct the imperfections. However, the dark paint should be a little forgiving and cover up some.

I plan on getting the plexi-glass this week. The plan with that is to mask out everything but the chart/map grid and any other foreground design and paint them on first, then paint the rest a thin coat of white. I have some electrical fixtures I can rig under the table as well.

If you'd like to help I could use it. Let me know. I think I'll probably aim for Sunday morning, because the parking meters are free and I can usually park right in front of the bar.
