I have the same cowl. The only problem I've noticed is mine has 2 humps from where the ears are filled with foam and it hurts my hair after wearing for a while

Mine had the same two lumps in the cowl where they sealed off the foam in the ears. They are super soft though. Don't really bother me, although the cowl is all around a little snug.

That would be super easy to fix with a dremel and a cone-sanding bit. Would only take a minute to hollow them out a bit.

Haven't posted in a while. Been so busy at work and making costume pieces for others I haven't been able to get around to making progress on my own costume.
I have however found some vinyl that I'm thinking of wrapping all my new armor pieces in and then painting with gunmetal grey fabric and vinyl paint. Hopefully it works out how I envision it because I bought two yards of the stuff which I hope should be enough. in the meantime I'll leave you with an image of one of my commissioned gauntlets after its first layer of primer. I like these images because the color of the primer really makes all the little details pop. Hopefully I'll have some fresh progress pics to share soon.

Been making a couple purchases lately for my version 2 origins suit. After going through at least 4 pairs of gloves and finally found a pair that I like. I just need to remove the logos and I'm all set.

I also purchased a simple moto jacket to use as an undersuit. It had a couple integrated armor pieces inside which I removed most of as they decreased mobility too much and I found in removing them the jacket was not only a little lighter but a little cooler. Anyhow I plan on sewing in some Velcro to specific points of the jacket in order to mount the new armor pieces onto that way it slips on in a similar fashion to that of the UD Replica suits. Anyhow I threw on a couple pieces from my first suit just to get a quick glimpse of the possibility.

I'm still awaiting the arrival of my Origins V2 cowl from coofunkcurly. Should be in within the next week.
I also decided to take a chance on a 6 panel cape I purchased online. Should be delivered today. Excited to see how that came out. I'll post pics of it when I get home.

I can't see the pic with the jacket. It just says attached thumbnails. Can't wait to see the cape. I just finished mine a few days ago. I already started on my V 2.0. A few things I would like to change.

And I finally got the cape done and happy with how it came out. Here is a picture of the cape displayed on my v1 origins suit.

That looks awesome buddy! You do the cape yourself? The jacket is pretty cool too. I need your help again on something. The biceps, how exactly did you get that detail around the edges? Maybe a close up pic would help. Thanks man.

No. The cape was purchased from eBay. I originally had hoped that it would hover about an inch off the ground, but it ended up being a little long... But that's okay. Better too long than too short. Might leave it be or might bring it in a little.

As for the bicep pieces, I simply drew a line all the way around the border and used the sanding drum of the dremel to make a smooth depression all the way around. After spray paint I dry brushed some black acrylic into the seams and then lightly wiped it with a damp cloth to give it a grungy used look and to add depth to the detail around the bicep. Anyhow here is a pic of the biceps.

On my version 2 suit I might try something different with the biceps as I plan to recreate them using foam wrapped in vinyl and bordered by a vinyl piping. Got to try it and see if it works or if it fails.

Finally received my GauntletFX Origins V2 Cowl. This thing is beautiful and a definite improvement over their V1. The fit first of all is great as it is a little larger than the V1 which seemed to fit a little too snug for comfort on my 24" head. Second, the detail... It has improved curvature as well as a textured finish which makes it all the more authentic. Can't praise this cowl enough. Cowl was produced and delivered in a timely manner but my excitement made the wait excruciating... But upon opening the box, it was so worth the wait. Seriously couldn't ask for a better cowl. Thanks Kevin!

This is a pretty easy fix. The foam is very soft. Just trim it flush. Carefully use a razor. Or I can usually start it with a fingernail and tear it evenly across.

let me rephrase so no confusion exists. I had no issue with the wait as you made it clear from the get go what the approximate delivery date would be and delivered right on time. My excitement for the product is what made the wait excruciating, like a kid waiting for Christmas. Not the actual time it took for production and delivery. Hope this clears things up Kevin. And I have to say it again. Your work is top notch!

I have been eyeballing this cowl for a long while. So excited when I was finally able to purchase it. Aside from being a functional/ wearable prop, it would make a beautiful display piece. I would highly recommend it Floyd if you find yourself in the market for one of these.
