Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

I wonder if, after the reception of this trailer, Zach has time to do some quick CG tweaking of Doomsday due to make him less like the Abomination.

Wow, that comparison picture really shows that they pretty much made Doomsday a carbon copy of Abomination. How the hell does that happen?

They're not identical.

One's facing left and the other is clearly facing right... I just forget which...

... oh yeah, the ninja turtle head belongs to doomsday.

Anyone figure out what these dumb looking wasp people are?

I'm sorry I know I will be the only one to say this but I like Jesse playing Lex. Hear me out for a second. First let's forget the awesome portrayals we have seen in the past. This movie is set in the here and now. Who would Lex Luthor most likely be. Some snot nose whiney tech geek emo that got picked on in school and uses his mind and wealth as a way to get back at the world. They are the kinda of people that annoy the **** out of most people and if that is what he is going for in his Lex then I think he is spot on. I think I will be looking forward to my next colonoscopy more than this movie.

I am absolutely loving Ben as Bats. The rest of the trailer?... I'm not so sure about. Lex is very whiney, but it has potential. I can see what they're going for. I am not sure I like the comedic tone of the trailer much either. The trinity shot felt very rushed and the villains reveal could have waited much longer.

It is interesting he says "We just have a bad history with freaks dressed as clowns." Obviously referring to the Joker we'd assume, but there is no way IMO it could be referring to Jared Leto's joker. He seems way too young to fit into this timeline of Bats being in retirement for some substantial time. Very curious how it will all play out, but this trailer just makes Suicide Squad's Joker and Harley stick out even more than they did previously...

I'll disagree.

Yes, it's very easy to compare Lex to Zuckerberg-types... especially with Eisenberg involved. Although, Zuckerberg wasn't really what we're seeing in Lex. The info/rumors we have about this Luthor is that this is Lex Luthor Jr. It seems while he will be seen as a coding, wunderkind - he also appears to have the added trait of coming from a wealthy family. So yeah, he might be a whiny-tech-geek-emo that got picked on that uses his mind - he seems to have always had the wealth to seek revenge.

Personally, I'd much rather see Lex portrayed as more of an evil Bill Gates or a Mark Cuban-type. A bit older, still very much a genius, very rich... someone who has made their mark and is established, someone that is more threatened of losing their well established legacy... but, can still be impulsive. I'd love to see them establish a deeper character, someone with a darker side, pulling strings - someone that gives Clark and Lois something to do by letting them investigative reporters. Someone that Superman knows is behind it all, but just can't do anything because he still lacks the concrete evidence he needs. I'd love to see that Luthor gaining power... running for office and the setting off the need for the JLA.

Who knows? Maybe we'll get some of that...

Based on what I've seen/heard and just my own personal tastes, I just don't like Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Not just because he's nowhere close the established norm - but, also because he seems to play the same basic character over and over again - he seems to be a one note actor. Maybe this will redeem him - based on seconds of footage, it doesn't seem like it will.

I really want this movie to be good. MoS was a letdown for me and I wish WB/DC nothing but success in kicking off their DCEU. But, this trailer was bad. Not god awful, but definitely disappointing, and a big drop from the SDCC trailer. The trailer started off fine between Clark and Bruce... and then Jessie Eisenberg showed up. Total miscast as Lex and I cringe at every one of his scenes from the trailers thus far. Then they dropped the Doomsday reveal wayyyy too early, and his design doesn't impress (the internet's already having a field day with that one). Finally, the last part was like something out of a cheesy commercial - Batman says 'Oh s@#$", the music stops, WW saves the day, B and S make a quip, and then the (bad) music resumes with the Holy Trinity emerging in slow-mo. What a crappy way of ending a trailer :facepalm

JD I actually would love to have seen Mark Cuban play Lex Luthor in this movie. Especially after Sharknado 3. Is there anything that guy can't do.
Ash please also note that Lex Jr. is really just Lex who's mind was inserted into a clone body. In the comic books anyway.

Maybe it's not Doomsday and we've all been fooled and that it's actually a cameo by Abonimation's brother who turned against him and went to the DCU named Notabomination.

I'd like to see more bony protrusions like on the comic book Doomsday, but, presuming he's made from a cloned/rebuilt/altered Zod, I like seeing some of Michael Shannon's features in Doomsday's design.

As for the rest of it, I'll see the film, then judge it.

You're right. If he's trying to be the most obnoxious, whiny d-bag character in any superhero movie EVER then he's definitely nailing the role. :lol

The big wigs at Marvel/Disney probably did a huge group high five last night after seeing this trailer and calculating how much more money Captain America: Civil War is going to make than Batman v Superman.
