Wow.....Error this costume is really awesome, and if you allow me to tell you...i never see a girl like you...all i can say is: wow

lol funny thing about serenity ... i had never seen firefly and when serenity came out i went to go see it .... when you watch one without seeing the other , it is the longest most confusing nonsensical movie out there ... when it was over i just remember rolling back and forth on my spine like WHAT WAS THAT! i gone with someone who also never seen firefly ... i really need to friggen watch firefly and do it right

The tv series was the bomb. I have been a fan of the tv series from the begining and the movie was just icing on the cake. The Tv show Castle makes referance to Serenity / firefly quite a bit. Jane is my favorite character. Did you know that every episode of firefly has a Han in Carbonite somwhere in the scene.

do you consider you're self as a cosplayer? do most of the guys on here ? i dont know i was pretty uneducated on what a cosplayer exactly was until i spoke to both costumers and cosplayers... its two different worlds .. its awesome you can shoot the **** with a costumer and they will be like yea it took two years to build this , they tell you the materials they used and they know a lot about what they are dressed as , in fact they love it... cosplayers are a mess ....they are usually pretty young ... socially inept... they never really go to a convention with just one costume .. instead three shotty thrown together costumes with make up remnants of the last one they wore and they change their cloths every two hours ... if you ask them about the character they are dressed as will hit you with a weird personality instead of actually explaining the character .. because they have no idea what they are dressed as lol its almost like they either look for another cosplay kid to compete with in thrown together costume world or they look for something extremely rare that no one would think of dressing as .... so basically one is done for sheer attention and getting noticed by photographers ... the other just likes the character and is extremely creative , i am not blowing smoke up my own ass but im thinking of the guys and girls who took a hack at pep files and went through all this hard work to make something nice , or the people who do great makeup and do not paint them self one tone ... find a wig at the halloween costume store and start up a fan page on themselves .... i hate new tim burton just as much as i hate new lucas ... but back in the day tim burton dished out some awesome movies and i loved the way everything looked in batman returns , dude the penguin was fantastic ... catwomans suit was amazing ... best one i seen on film ... i watch it and its nostalgic .... making this suit does NOT make me a cosplayer .... look at the pro photos taken of me and steven its us strangling eachother on a bench with about ten phones next to us .. a chewed piece of sausage and a block of cheese with teeth marks in it .. not us posing or pretending ... ... im sorry i just really do not like cosplayers , i do not like steam punk kids either or that godawful dr.steel dude that seems to be their retarded ring leader .... lol .. if anything i think they make communities like this look bad ... and i notice girls get sucked into being called cosplayers more then the guys do ... i guess nerd girls are the unicorns of the dork community

and i would also like to state not all cosplayers , there are real ones .. the japanese kids that love their anime and make some AMAZING incredible **** then you have the weird run off that happens over here ... its sad it really destroys what they worked so hard on lol

It took me a while to read this because the sentence structure is non-existant. While I think there is a difference between costumers and cosplayers I think some of your comparisons are unfair. Most of your costumes seem to be purely to garner attention to yourself at conventions...like the previously mentioned cosplayers.

oh yea i never feel like typing properly i mite as well type with my feet ... but honestly ... philly comic con was the second time i ever went in costume to a convention and it was an outfit i handmade and put together , my main focus was alric's costume that i also hand made .. painted .. molded prosthetic for applied all of it , then body painted him since i do not own an airbrush machine ... me and alric did not sleep instead i started his makeup application at four in the morning .. spirit gum and latex are a pain to set and dry so this nightmare took hours on top of it we were traveling from wayne nj to philly that is over two hours! .... by the time we got to the convention we were spent i in no way was there to garner attention i was there to hang out with my best friend while he looked way cooler then me

Eeeeeasy killer. Pull the claws back in. I personally do not see the distinction. ALL costumers appear to be having a blast. Do a lot of them put forth the effort that you do? It doesn't appear that way to me.

To the subject of your photos with Alric, those are hilarious. Loved 'em. You both have cajones as I am not a costumer. I respect anyone who is willing to put themselves on display in the Fishbowl of the world for all to judge.

To Jawafive, Error seems like a good kid, man. Her displaying her attributes is NO DIFFERENT than the 300DC crowd running around in what amounts to a speedo and sandals. Hell, THEY show more skin, but those guys put in work on their physiques to do that. If you've got it, flaunt it.

Error, keep up the good work with the costumes AND the makeup(Which videos of are sorely lacking, by the way.:p). Your hard work and dedication is showing. I just had to comment to what I perceived as an ironic statement.

dude there are cosplayers like that beautiful girl , who is on the banner of the costume contest in the silk spectre gear ..she makes top notch costumes and it shows ! its not all of them .... i kinda view costumers like normal people , there are the awesome ones that will hold a door for you and have a great personality , then there are the people that are scratching their ass bump into you to get in front of you then slam a door in you're face lol .... when you have a bad personality , a suit that shows no craftsmanship and you have no idea what you are dressed as .. i do not like you .... at all ... and nothing anyone says will sway my opinion .. fishbowl or not ... qui i like you i think you are awesome .. you are not one of these people .... i can not speak for jawafive i do not know this person

but i digress ... i really have seen brilliant cosplays as i mentioned a lot of the japanese anime work wow .... i have seen some stuff that i did not thing was possible , lol i seen one guy in these crazy mechanical flapping wings ... and i bet they worked too because i could not see this man getting into a car or on a bus or even through a door at that rate ... i think he just flew through a window

lol for most of this b/s on here i blame myself for typing like i have feet for hands rather then taking the time and fully explaining what i am talking about Bad cosplay image by TrueVisionary on Photobucket <--- if anything that is more creative then what i have actually seen ... on top of it .. recently me and alric , even brandon brown , someone who frequents the lair and i believe this as well .. we were looking around on the otaku costume contest . basically there was a message on the main page of a girl who said " hi can you please withdraw my submission from the contest , i am getting extremely awful feedback and its ruining my confidence" it was probably the saddest thing i seen on the main page of a costume contest so i looked for her submission since otaku ignored it .... dude seriously this poor girl she was about 16 ... her costume was actually nice but there was a pack of female cosplayers rippin her to shreds ! ... me , steve , and brandon really tore them girls a new ******* but seriously just watching these things happen its really lame ... a vast majority of american cosplay is more like a popularity contest ...the bitchier the more popular ... but i have to say otaku made me way more bitter to the community and i separated myself from it

See, this has been an educational read for me. I was unaware of the distinction between the two groups. I even learned to read Error-ese, where you type with your feet.

Perhaps I should attend a convention and see juuuust how bad it can be. Europe hipped me to the BO, so I will not be surprised by the stanky guys.

well, what error said is true. some people take on the "cosplayer" thing as a shot to fame & popularity. its sad honestly because the true essence of the "hobby" loses its meaning. it becomes a ticket to a modelling career or just simply to be noticed by some talent agency. i resent that cosplay is becoming mainstream simply because people are jumping into the bandwagon without them knowing what they are getting into. I've heard of interviews gone bad because the so-called cosplayer just don't know what they are talking about.

for us its merely a hobby, a way of being creative and expressing ourselves. we admit that we are not at par with the people around here but we've learned a lot and we're having fun. we don't consider ourselves costumers because we are not really pro-makers of costumes but we would like to uphold ourselves as cosplayers and i guess when we cosplay we try our best to do it right.

of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinions and we all know we can't please everybody. i guess whatever, ideology we embrace, the most important thing is we're having fun and we enjoy doing it.

I will run now lest i get clawed to pieces by error. wah!
