    Everyone,
    Costume makers, Cosplayers, Collectors...

    Good Day! :)

    Hi, My name is Mark Celtic and I am from The Philippines, Im just only 16 years old so bare with me LOL..
    This is gonna be my first Suit Build post here on the rpf and I am currently working on with The Batman Desert Storm - Comic con 09 entry by Farazmobin.. The movie Dark Knight Rises is near so I then decided to make a Bat suit.. First I thought of why not making the original Dark Knight suit but I realized that there were already so many cosplayers here in our country that made one, Thats why I decided to make the desert storm batman so that I am gonna have a unique bat suit when the movie came out and have some Movie Watching in Costume.. I am gonna be making this suit out of craft foam different materials will just be some sort of improvements...

    Lets Start! :lol

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    First thing that I did is make the main base part of the helmet/cowl out of Craft Foam with NO TEMPLATES AT ALL!..
    I don't use patterns or templates that much.. I think that is my specialty, Making costumes out of scratch LOL..
    (front view)
    [IMG]
    (side view)
    [IMG]
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I then added the ears, nose and the Main Face Mask Part...

    [IMG]

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    After that, I sculpted the eyebrows using Polymer Clay..
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Craft Foam Coated with Acrylic Emulsion..

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I then on started on working with the Neck Piece..
    [IMG]
    (with Mask on)
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I am so excited to finish the Body Armor thats why
    I haven't got the time to take pictures of the progress.. :facepalm well here it is!

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Shoulder pads and Biceps finished!
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    SO THAT'S IT FOR NOW!
    Im sorry if I haven't got more detailed pictures on how I made those things :cry..
    But I do hope you like my work.. Thanks! :)

    Yeah, every costume that I built has no template or patterns * :facepalm...
    That's why when there's someone who wants to have a copy of my Suit for commission, The out come is not that good like the first one I made.. By the way, Thank you very much :)

    ei Mark. where'd you source the sintra, how much does it go for? sizes/thickness available? thanks. oh and your suit turned out cool, minor suggestion on the cowl ...maybe you can try my method so it turns out a little smaller and snug to the face.

    Good job! If you don't mind me asking, how did you attach the foam pieces and colour it. I'm thinking of doing this for The Dark Knight Rises, is this easy or possible for someone who has never built a costume before?

    Good Day Sir!..

    I got my Sintra Board from a Junk Shop.. LOL
    (From a reliable source) I think you can find one in national bookstore which costs 150php, I think?...
    Depends on the size and the thickness.. I haven't tried buying there yet.. Also, My friend sent me this...
    I hope this helped! :thumbsup

    Actually Sir that's my second cowl / mask.. If you can notice, Its somehow different from the one on the first post of mine... I decided to make another cause the last one was a FAIL when I put Bondo on it.. *sighs* ... So yeah, thats a new mask and I put some Glasses on the eyes for the Sonar Vision Effect, hehehe :D

    I used cyanoarcylate adhesive to attach the foam pieces... And I just used an ordinary Spray Paint to color it... First you need to do is just Primed it using a Primer Paint or Acrylic Emulsion, then go on with the Main Color...

    Yes it is possible, You just need to use your imagination and never give up on working with it... And most specially is, Have Fun and Enjoy crafting! :D

    Actually, the cowl on my very first post is different from the pictures from the convention I attended... If you are looking at the eyebrows that looks sculpted, I just used polymer clay (oven baked clay) for it.. You have to sculpt the shape first then bake it.. After the clay cures, You can stick it on the foamies using cyanoacrylate adhesive.. The eyebrows of the cowl that I used on the convention were just pure foamies.. Just cut it like that and stick it in an angled position to make it look buffy..

    the Dark Knight Version cause I think it will look more awesome than the Pixelated one..
    And I stand correct~! :D

    I also, made a new set of shoes because the last one made me look short because its too bulky..
