Batman Beyond-based on art by Mark Vick

I'm loving this...I wanted to do this suit but you've don it so well that I don't want to even try. If you need anything 3d printed let me know. I can model and print it for you.

Hey man, you've done an AMAZING job on this !
But I've been wanting to know what you'll do when you're done sculpting , will you make a cast and use latex? I've seen people do that with cowls, is there a name for the process you'll use?

I've been talking with the manager from the local Reynolds advance materials (smooth-on) and the plan is to do an epoxy based cast for the mold and use silicone to make the suit. It's gonna be a 4 part cast so I can have an easier time with the rubber. The plan is to separate it about the waist line. The belt should hide the seam.

I could use a batarang to go with this design :) I spoke with the artist and he originally planned to make one but got busy with his work.

Would this work for you?

This is the 3d printed version of the model... I need to do some revisions, but I hope it will actually be able to collapse and expand.

Been smoothing out the left arm most of the evening. Not very exciting to look at. Gonna lay out the elbow and forearm in the next day or so. Going to make sure I don't lose my template for this part

Wow. The detail work is amazing. I've always loved that concept, but what you're doing actually makes it look better. Way to go!

Thank you for the compliments! There will be more details to come (mostly the circuitry lines) but right now I'm just making sure to get all the "armor" looking bits shaped out

I don't think I've ever seen a Beyond suit before, and holy crud, what an awesome project.

I would ask if you have any worries about casting something that size with that much detail, but I'm sure you've got a hold of it (and I'm not very experienced in casting besides, so).

Thank you! That's actually a good question. I've been talking with the folks from smooth-on at my local retailer and when I cast it, it will be in multiple parts. By doing that, I can cast just the lower or just the upper parts into the mold.

How are you planning to do the bat on the chest? Maybe el-panel or just paint?

No EL will be used in this build. If I do any lights, it will be in the belt. The red stands out against the black very well and creates a glow on its own. Color theory in practice. :) Besides, any lighting such as EL, would restrict my range of movement. Good question though. Folks have asked if I would use EL wires for the lines as well. Sometimes less is more.
