Batman Begins/The Dark Knight linked belt project *NEW DIRECTION AND PICS PAGE 3*

Well done, Endo. That looks outstanding. :love

Take notice of how tightly those links fit together. :) That was not an easy task to achieve. With the molds we had previously you had to drill a hole through the "I" link and the small knuckle and insert a pin. Left a lot of play and was difficult to be precise. Not to mention having to putty each and every hole you made afterwards, sand them smooth. :cry Endo has worked it out so no holes are needed. This will cut down build time tremendously. Not to mention I think it is a much more elegant solution. (y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Not much of an update but wanted to illustrate how the links are able to pivot freely and fold. There is enough separation to do so all the while maintaining the tight fit and look we want.

Ingeniously this belt! can you tell me when you can show a finished product? Only with this belt my costume will be perfect! Keep it up :love

Endo is cruising right along with the belt now. :love

Here is how we decided to do the buckle after much discussion. Our goals have always been to have a strong belt that could be worn without worry of breakage and an easy build for even those with little modeling skills. ;)

The buckle and connecting arms are a 1 piece design. Once being worn there is no need for movement in those areas. And building it in 3 pieces so it has that proper arc to curve around the abdomen is quite challenging. Not to mention just look at where those arms typically connect to the buckle and how thin that area is. In resin that makes for HUGE breakage points. So we went for best compromise on strength, function, and design. This belt will never lay flat. And it shouldn't. When you watch the scene where he is cutting the harness off the belt and running his hands across it, the buckle remains peaked off the table. That is what we wanted and are thrilled with how it looks. If I hadn't told you the difference I bet you would have thought this was 3 separate pieces. ;)

great work, when will these be ready?

Thanks phocker ;) For a long time, I wasn't able to work on this project, but I've been putting in a lot of work into this lately. There are still some things I'd like to tweak. I know there's a lot of folks that have been waiting for this so thanks for hanging in there. I will call it in soon.
