I wanted to post up my Batman suit for Halloween, see what you guys think. I used Archy's templates and came up with what you will see here. I took a lot of liberties since I started work on this last week. I used 1/4 inch EVA foam for the top pieces(abs, chest obliques etc. with the only exception being the bat symbol, which was made in foamies) the under "armor" was 1/8" EVA foam and was pretty much the whole shape of the armor, like this:
Archys template:
back piece that holds everything together:
and the only parts I used from the template for the front pieces:
so after some work I came up with this:
I'm a bigger dude so...
did some Plasti-Dippin and:
that"s a more finished pic but you get the idea
I made the suit modular so I can remove any piece if needed, it all attaches with velcro for easy removal/replacement. chest velcroes to abs, codpiece velcroes to abs, cape velcroes to chest etc.
chest to abs section:
removable cod, for sitting and bathroom breaks:
thigh armor, only did front got lazy:
The cowl and belt are rubies, I didn't find the batman 3/4 plastic mask so I couldn't make the cowl hold it's shape better, but I did add a zipper for easier(and better looking) on/off. In the pic the cowl has old t-shirts stuffed in it to hold it's shape.
zipper
War Knight anyone?
my suited up pics suck, too dark. I'll get a better one tomorrow hopefully outside
I still have to do the shoulders, biceps, boot toppers and knee armor but that should only take a few hours tomorrow. More pics after it's all done.
