I have a cowl I just purchased and a body suit that is on the way. What color is the armor and cowl suppose to be. How do I paint the items, do you sand them or what.

Thanx Biker

depends on what type of suit and cowl you have.
what is it made out of? (latex? urethane?)
has it been painted before? (or plastidipped)
Is it a commercially available suit (like rubies) or is it fan made?
what type of undersuit do you have?
and do you want the bodysuit to match the undersuit?

You most likely have the address if you've aquired the parts, but BrotherhoodOfTheBat would be your one-stop-site for Batman costuming advice. There's also the RubberhoodOfTheBat, but I don't frequent that board.

Never known Kris to work in urethane. It's most likely latex and can be plastidipped(comes in a spray can). You won't need to sand it(latex doesn't sand very well). If it is latex plasti-dipping is the way to go. 2-3 cans will make a nice black suit for ya. Good luck and you'll enjoy it.

Oh you got a suit from Kris.. That's a great suit. What everyone said here is correct. You should just plastidip it if you feel it requires a paint job.

I would suggest though. since you have a very nice suit and cowl that you wait before you start buying supplies.. you may not even have to plastidip it.

If you're planning on wearing the suit you need to get a decent undersuit.. You could get a typical wetsuit.. or you can go really high end and get a undersuit specifically made for the begins suit from "Davidyr1" He can be found on brotherhood of the bat. I'm a member there too.

Rubberhood of the bat has some tutorials, less users, but is a good resource as well. In fact a post just went up as to how to paint latex. You might want to check it out. These instructions are much more complicated than a simple plastidip job. If you're up to it, I would recommend doing it the more complicated way. If you're planning on wearing it, plastidip is good and flexible, but eventually it does crack, especailly if the suit is worn.

enjoy your suit!
