Batman Begins 3D printed cowl

Thanks everyone. Pretty excited to see this finally come to fruition. It's this suit that got me into this hobby in the first place. ;)

To answer a few questions -

The intention is to offer urethane rubber copies. The mold is going to be seamless and to try and pull hard copies out is real hard on the mold. Not to mention it makes life too easy on the recasters to have a hard copy. Not saying that any of you guys are into that but it an especially sad reality in the Bat community.

That being said a urethane rubber copy will hold its shape very well even while just on display.

As far as other cowls, don't think there are many we'd tackle. Maybe the TDK since we could get a 3D modeler to mod the Begins cowl. Also perhaps the Arkham Asylum as the files are out there. But as far as other movie cowls they are all readily available and most originally from movie studio sources. So likely not. Not to mention that we'd need the 3D files to make them and for those older movies they don't exist. ;)

Having experience with 3D models, and seeing how nice the painted part looks; i can appreciate the amount of work that you put into sanding and getting it to this point. Very nice work... Definitely interested.

Unbelievable...the black one is just out of this world!

They're the same one. Just at different points of finishing.

And there's a difference between "details" and "flaws." NO details were lost or changed. But to me it makes no sense to include dents and bumps that should not have been in the original in the first place. That would baffle me. ;)

I wish I had something more intelligent or constructive to offer but.. man that's awesome :)

That's a great new !!! I think urethane rubber is the best to make pulls of these baby. I got a Vericetti's Dark Knight Cowl for years now and it really hold its shape even today...

Just count me in for the first run !!!!

You guys do amazing work! So glad I waited on getting a cowl Kevin. When will these be offered & do you know the pricing yet?

Wow!!! 3d modelling. Never really had much experience with it but certainly this has the creative juices flowing lol Amazing.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to anyone regarding this yet. Wanted to make sure the mold is good and we can get a handle on running urethane skins. To do it right is an art form in itself. With something like an Iron Man helmet we can putty any flaws. With a rubber cowl you cannot. ;)

In any event I think we're real close. Let's keep this thread clean of sales questions. I will post in the Junkyard when I feel we're ready. First test cast from the mold. Couldn't resist throwing it on.

Overall pretty pleased. I got the sizing right. At 24 1/8 it fits me great. Maybe a bit of room to spare in there. I'd say 24.5 max would fit it. Like all cowls its a bit of a struggle to get past the neck but after that its all good.

We think we're gonna do another slightly smaller. Maybe up to 23 inch head max. In the meantime I gotta pull a couple more so I can master pouring urethane. ;)

The first pull looks amazing! I can't even imagine how hard it is to cast in urethane. Looking forward to seeing pics of it up close.
