Hello all!

Just wanted to post some pics of some wall plaques I have made. I have made several styles over the years from styrofoam but wanted to make some that were a bit different! I made them both like stone (an emerald/jade style for the Green Lantern plaque and a darker stone look for Batman) I then added a light in the back of each to make the emblems glow when the lights are out :) The plaques are close to 3 foot across each.

Enjoy the pics!

Did you sketch those before building them?
If so, could you be a nice guy and publish them for us?
Thanks.

Actually I just looked up the emblems using google, printed them out and then just enlarged them. Traced them on cardboard to make my patterns and then transferred them to my foam and cut them out :)

An FF logo would look awesome! Almost like it was in the Baxter builing lobby :) Same with the X-Men log as well!

What do you use to coat the foam? I LOVE using foam for projects - cheap, easy to cut/machine, etc. I just need to take the extra step and start making things more permanent by coating pieces and haven't yet.

I use several products to coat foam but my old stand by is sculpt or coat ( You can just google it and it will come up) The process in which I do that is coat the foam, apply a layer of cotton batting to the wet sculpt or coat and then coat it all again with sculpt or coat to seal it all up. The cotton batting seems to add an extra barrier of protection so that the foam will not chip or break if hit :)Hope that info helps!
