Baron Boutiques Brown Tennant Suits

Hey, I plan on buying a Baron brown Tennant suit, but there's a huge difference between the wool and the cotton. I'm not going to be buying a Magnoli, I find them too expensive. But the huge problem I have is choosing between the wool and the cotton. I've seen pictures of people wearing the Baron's cotton, but with the picture on Barons at the moment there's too many pinstripes. If anybody has bought them recently, is it a bad/incorrect photo, or has it changed since 09? Also, what would your recommendation be between the two?

There aren't too many stripes, their cotton has accurate spacing. I'm not a fan of it, but the spacing is accurate. You didn't need to ask the same question over and over again, ignoring the answer until you got the one you were looking for.

It's not a matter of opinion, the distance between stripes is a factual number. Their stripe spacing matches the original suit to within a millimeter. You can trust me on this.

Another opinion: Risu is correct.

Generally speaking, this is how I feel any time part of the Tennant costume is mentioned:

But as of late it's getting more like this:

I remember seeing the first image of this outfit, thinking a)I love it, and b)this’ll be easy to do!

Still, we’re getting there now, with some of the last ties coming out from magnoli’s store, and his new fabric too.

Yea, I can't wait for the journey to be over. I'm 3 ties away from being happy (the Smith and Jones, Waters of Mars, and the Partners in Crime) and my suits are ordered and paid for from Baron. I'll also be trying to find some really accurate shirts over in England on Monday. (wow, not long now)

Okay so, I've seen a lot of talk about the accuracy of the Tenth Doctor's suit, in terms of stripe spacing, shades of color, and blah blah.
My biggest issue, right now, is why in the blazes is Baron Boutique's blue Tennant suit so damn purple? I just received mine in the mail, and while I'm mostly pleased with the fit (the pants came out weird, but the jacket's great), why does it look like something straight out of Jack Nicholson's/Joker's closet?

I don't think Tennant ever wore a suit that was so purple. Baron claims it's "blue with red pinstripe", but it looks purple. Like grape purple.

EDIT: It's not so much that it's purple, but the bright red of the pinstripes makes it look purple. I want to ask if there's any...I don't know, remedy to this?

So have you got the tie he wears in 'the doctors daughter'?

I've seen some close enoughs, but I don't really care about that tie, or really almost any of the ones that were only worn once. They aren't very memorable and half of them are outright ugly (like the Impossible Planet tie).

I need a suit for work, and have decided on BB's cotton Tennant Suit. Any opinions on the snug or comfy fit?

I suppose my issue is, I'm losing weight right now and working out regularly. I've gone down an inch in my waist size in the past month.

If I order a suit with my measurements right now, they may be different in a few months. Can a skilled seamstress take the suit in? and how much can be taken in.

Don't scare of the new guy because he's not an expert on the 10th suit. It's a complicated thing to replicate even though it appears to be simple - but I guess the same can be said for many movie/tv related replica costumes.

Jack, my honest recommendation would be to wait a while on ordering the suit, unless you've got loads of cash to throw around or need the suit immediately for a con or something. I'd also always recommend the snug fit for costuming or daily wear, but that's my preference. Definitely snug for costuming though.

I didn't need it immediatly for anything other than work. I occasionally have events where I need to dress up and thought, why not the 10th dotors suit!

I've done my research and although I would prefer a magnoli, I will go with Baron for the time being. I just didn't want to order a suit now and my measurements be different when I receive it. Not sure really how to conteract that issue

Risu is considered one of the experts on this one so going with whatever he tells you would be wise.

Having lost a considerable amount of weight early on in my 10 costuming days it's my recommendation that you lose your weight first, just so you don't have to buy another suit. I'd say the same as a person who knows how to tailor a jacket and what can and can't be done by a tailor after it's made.
