Barlow the Vampire mask?

That's Mr. Barlow on here. He'll post a link when he sees this I'm sure. :)

That wasn't sculpted by Russ(Mr. Barlow). Although it is the best wearable version out there.
Russ did a resin bust that looks just like the film version.

Here is his version:

The guy who played Barlow in the movie actually had burns all over his face, it wasn't makeup..........well, obviously the teeth and ears weren't his, haha!

`Mr Barlow's` sculpt is the best of the two, but I always thought it looked more like an idealized version, with all the deep wrinkles.

The Barlow in the movie looked smoother, like the Darkside Studios version.

Barlow is by far one of the best Vampire make-up to date. After 30 years, still gives me the creeps.

Guess who I am going as this Halloween :D

Anyone who was a little kid when that movie came out was traumatized. Salem's lot seriously messed me up when I was about 7 years old. Couldn't sleep for weeks... I distinctly remember having to sleep facing away from my bedroom windows.

Scariest parts:

Glick Brothers coming to the window.

"Look At Me, Teacher!"

and of course, Mr. Barlow

Dark Helmet, I'm looking forward to some pics of your costume.

I must like the character... I have both the Death Studios version [wearable mask] and Russ's display bust.

S.L. [79] is a tiny bit dated, after all, it's been almost 30 years. But that crap was freakishly scary to anyone growing up back in the day.

I remember watching it at a friends house, an old country house out in the middle of nowhere here in the cornfields of Indiana. I was 15 I think and it made me feel like a scared child.

Yeah, the window scenes played on our primal fears. I used to be scared of monsters coming to my window as a kid, and SL visualized that fear.

Barlow's design again played on our primal fears. That is EXACTLY what I imagined Vampires looking lile, even though I was heavily influenced by the Bela Lugosi version.

Back in the mid 70's, during the height of the Univesal Monster rennaisance, they played Nasferatu on our local Creature Feature show. That damn movie scared the pee out of me. Something about old B&W imagery. Max Schrek was a scary lookingf dude in real life anyway.

The other reason the movie was so scary to me as a child was the victims were boys my same age... It was absolutely bone chilling to see children in coffins coming back to life.
