Does anyone know, the best place to pick up the Bandi 1/850 USS Enterprise NCC-1701 kit cheap??

Thanks,
aljf :confused

Well I prefer the second issue of the kit, the TMP/WOK/TSS NCC-1701 (I just like the original ship better than the 1701-A version, and this kit includes decals to make a whole range of ships):

Then there's the original issue of the kit, which has the NCC-1701-A markings printed on it.

I've seen these go for about $80.

There's also been a Bandai kit of the 1701-E.

$80 sounds about right.

When the original kit (NCC-1701-A) was released, you could pre-order them for as low as $58 at some places but they became hard to find after a while.

$80 is probably about the best you'll get on them now.

I DID see these kits selling for $100 at a local hobby shop.

Such is the price people pay for a superior, pre-painted import kit.

Actually, Karl, that's reversed, it was the original issue which was TMP. The "A" version with additional decals and blue deflector came after.

I have a kit I want to sell, but you'd have to define "cheap". ;)

Here are a couple reviews. It builds up to about 14.5 inches long.

As an aside, if the $80-plus cost of the Bandai is just too much, there's always the Art Asylum 1701-A... at 16 inches long it's actually bigger than the Bandai, is already assembled, and can be had for less than half the price.

Also available in a "Wrath of Khan" battle-damaged version with "1701" livery. (never mind the fact that this model depicts the ship as it is "self destructing" in Star Trek III, not WOK... :rolleyes)

it's a pretty nice kit. I think you'll like it. The AA toy is pretty nice too. I've been working with it a little trying to get the seems cleaned up and then repaint. It's coming along nicely.
