Bandai release schedule

It also looks like they are doing a lighting/sound kit version of the 1/2700 Zvedza Star Destroyer?

It's already available in Europe:

Prices vary from 120€ upwards, in Germany.

Here's an unboxing vid (german):

So does this mean Revell is the distributor of Bandai kits in Europe or did Bandai sale all the molds to Revell? Just curious...

As far as I can tell, nothing has changed with Revell and Bandai. The kits are manufactured by the same place Bandai kits are manufactured, and Revell distributes them with their own packaging, similar to how BlueFin does it for the US

I really doubt Revell owns the kind of injection moulding technology that Bandai has. Bandai couldn't just hand over the dies to someone else!

I don't think anyone has the ability to use Bandai's slide mold technology. What might happen is Bandai produces the kits as a subcontractor

Slide molding is not unique to Bandai, lot's of kit companies use it. But Bandai seems to be the only company willing to apply the top technologies to sci-fi subjects, most other companies don't consider sci-fi to be worth the effort or expense.

Bandai's BlueFin/Naamco booth included Star Wars 1/12 figure models at the 2020 Toy Fair in New York.

Nothing new shown, but I would think they might not bother showing anything at all if they were dropping the license ?

Unless they are obliged to show something while still actively under a license so they just trotted out old stuff?

At any rate we still still don't know for sure, but it looks promising?

Not mine, but was taken this week. Around the 3:46 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-xltWSG2eA

Why are people here talking rumours about Bandai dropping licenses again and again, as if they wanted it to happen. It's cleary something noone of us knows, so why starting again with the always same discussion? Trying to understand... better invest the time into building some models!

I simply posted that latest toy fair news simply because in the absence of any definitive proof, it is at least something to help alleviate any concerns for the time being

I'm not going to worry about. There are still Bandai kits unbuilt in my stash and more still available that I haven't gotten around to buying yet. If they were to drop the license, it would be because of economic decisions far beyond my meager control, and I'd rather enjoy the ride than waste time worrying about if and when it ends. Already in six years they have far exceeded the quality and quantity of output that we got from MPC in the three plus decades that proceeded it, so we're already big WINNERS. From here, it's all gravy.

I think because members are concerned about the future.
This is also a forum. Where else are we to express our gripes and complaints to people who will listen?

People have been predicting the end of Bandai Star Wars kits for some time now- I guess whenever something seems to good to be true people expect the rug to be pulled out from beneath them.
One problem is that Bandai does keep it's card close to it's vest- aside from that one ad showing kits being considered we really do not know much about their plans. One rep was able to wink-wink imply that a TIE/Bomber was in the works to a member over on SSM but was not allowed to divulge details.
For me, I have a lot of unbuilt kits still in my closet-of-doom and I can be happy just to build those, there are, however, a number of kits I want to get still and I am not going to sit around and wait now- if I can get them I will.
