Just my opinion rather than any inside knowledge...but I am pretty sure Bandai is done with Last Jedi stuff

We have only seen them revisit the original trilogy and touch on the prequels in between the new sequel movies.

IIRC, they have never gone back and redone kits from previous movies in the sequels beyond the initial wave of kits. Last Jedi did give use re-pops of Force Awaken kits, and I believe each of those was updated to some aspect the Last Jedi

Now, if those things appeared in Rise Of Skywalker, then maybe

Mini kit of Kylo's Star Destroyer could be possible. It is one of the more popular things that has not been done yet in the sequels and they been on a Star Destroyer kick as of late

If it is true that Bandai felt compelled (or was forced) to make a much smaller SD kit because of the Zvezda, Disney really need to have a come to God moment about issuing their licenses for SW models. Why have three licensees when all it is going to do is limit the quantity or quality of the kits produced? Zvezda has made one kit -- and it's large but highly inaccurate. Revell makes toys to assemble -- most laughably inaccurate and crappy. Bandai makes highly accurate, easy to assemble kits that, for the most part, are reasonably affordable. There's no reason to have three licensees. Bandai deserves the exclusive rights to SW models. They've demonstrated they are the only model company that is able (and cares) to produce quality kits. Let the Revell and Zvezda licenses lapse and allow Bandai products on shelves in any Target or Walmart or (blech) Hobby Lobby willing to stock them. Damn. Enough.

However, that said - money talks and well wishes walk. Not sure Bandai will want to pay the license fee for worldwide exclusive rights to market SW model kits, whereareas Revell and Hasbro hold a kind of toy dominance over the Lucasfilm marketing department.

They just may be keeping the lid on things until Force Friday next week. By next weekend we'll know about the new kits.

So the only really new model is a 1/12 scale D-0.

For me, these 3 were a given

I was surprised though the the other two slots of the three left over went for figure kits

we also knew of the one 1/12 figure kit since it was listed as a 1/12 figure kit, but there were two remaining "model item" spots

oh well, I guess we are left with hoping Revell gives up something that is vaguely 1/72 that might have Bandai level of detail if you squint. But at least it will have sound and lights and some of the parts won't break if you drop it since they are made of soft toy-like rubber

That's so underwhelming. I actually had hoped they would use TROS as an opportunity to release a larger Blockade Runner.

I'm fine with them being skimpy on the TROS stuff if they are instead putting the rest of their effort in the OT stuff. The new movies have some cool designs, but they are dull and uninspiring.

Kylo's ROS outfit is rather different from TFA - so at most the arms/legs/hands are the same (unclear if even that, just guessing).

Also, Bluefin described the above lineup as the "first wave" of ROS models, implying there may be more.

Crazy how folks here complain about Bandai not releasing enough stuff... thanks to Bandai, we finally have very affordable access to all the major ships in incredible detail! I would not mind even if they stopped new releases and just waited to milk the cow with their X-Wings for the time being. I'm happy for every new OT and PT kit they release. And I don't care about any of the ST kits.

Right now I am looking at the new lighted Star Destroyer kit- the effort and resources that went into this release is probably equivalent to a number of 1:72 and 1:144 kits. IIRC a similar thing happened with the release of the 1:72 Falcon.
The number of different boxes arriving on shelves may seem to decrease, but there still is a major effort oby Bandai to produce Star Wars kits.
