Bandai release schedule

I would prefer 1/48 or 1/35
But $160 for a 1/48 x-wing is making a Studio scale x-wing look cheap for the size and resin
I think I use to pick up fine molds x-wing for like $60
The 1/48 bandai x wing is glorious. It's just big enough to make it look studio scale.

I bet their English is better than your Japanese.

LOL, You bet it is. I do know a little as we have plants in Japan for the company I work for. I just have not had the opportunity to travel there.

Definitely excited about these announcements. I'm sure more will be coming.

That tiny Falcon is soo cute!

The U-wing in 1/144 makes sense at least from a size perspective. They have been shying away from anything larger than one man fighters in 1/72

Odd that the U-wing is missing. Between it and the TIE soda can, I would take the U-wing.

I don't get the impression that the Death Star is a kit but I don't read kanji.

What's that y-wing in the upper right corner?

Looks like the Rogue One kits will be..

1/12th Death Trooper
1/12th Scarif Trooper
1/12 K-2S0
1/72/144 Rogue Squadron X-wing
1/72 TIE Striker
1/144 TIE Striker - 1/144 U-Wing
Death Star?

Perhaps a 1/72 U-Wing not pictured?

What are those two things on the box of 1/144 U wing and tie striker?

Also, is the 1/72 x-wing any different than the old x-wing?

The 1/72 X-wing is supposedly based on Red Leader and comes with a 1/144 mini-kit of it as well

I am guessing it will not have the Death Star tile bases and the alternate parts to build Red 5/Red 3 as well as decals geared towards Red 1. Other than that I assume same tooling

maybe those things on the cover with the Striker and U-wing are those hover tanks. It would be cool if they are bonus items in the kit.

Bandia does the bonus kit inside a kit stuff a lot with the 1/1000 Yamato line

I already stocked up on 1/72 X-Wings, so I'm good there. I was actually hoping that they'd come out with some 1/6 figures, as 1/12 is a bit too small for my liking. Now I need a 1/6 Boba Fett figure...

...and a 1/48 Y-Wing.

The Y-Wing is another of the 1/144 kits that was announced a few weeks ago. It's already up for pre-order on a lot of sites. I have one pre-ordered thru a seller on eBay.

I had to go back searching for what you're referring to. I don't see any mention of $160 for a 48th scale X. (Right now, the FM kit is on Amazon--yeah, still--for $81 with free shipping and the Bandai is $95 with Prime).

And even though I'm right there with you wanting larger scale kits (if Bandai does a 48th scale Y, I'd get 10 just to start off and e-bay my SS Y), but it's almost like complaining about the scale of Bandai stuff is a lot like the old complaining (pre FM) about the detail and accuracy of the old MPC/Ertl/Amt stuff. Bandai is making some money, and using a little of it to use as earplugs. They just don't care. People say it's a home market issue, but I don't care about the reason. They're stuck making these too-small-for-me kits. And when I said "I bet they come up with some larger scale stuff now", Bandai responded with 144 scale fighters! Ugh!. (Here I need to insert one of those Charlie Brown characters getting frustrated.)

If it's accurate in shape and details, it looks like it could easily be converted into a accurate replica. I don't know enough about AT-ATs to say if it is accurate or not.

Seems Bandai has indeed passed on 1/48 scale models, given the evidence. Too bad, since at the very least they should have produced the 'big three' of X, Y & TIE fighters. As it is, they should already be offering a non-animated version of their X-Wing for those who want to flesh out their X-Wing squadrons. Obviously would take cutting a new sprue mold to provide replacements for the moving wing mounts, so perhaps that is something they'd put out after they finish with some other releases in the pipeline.

Ah, we are so good at wishful thinking, eh?
