Yes,...now that the dust has settled,...really nothing has changed....I just look on eBay or Amazon & the prices are really not that more expensive,.....got the A-Wing a few weeks ago

I'm just spoiled because I originally ordered the TIE's, X-1, and X-wing, and AT-ST direct from HLJ and got them for only 11 US each! but at 40 bucks or so a pop it's not such a good deal!

Ans god help me I'm still considering paying this outrageous mark up!...the kits are just THAT good!

They are. I'm a Star Wars fan, but I also love Star Trek and if Bandai started making Trek models again....lawd mercy I'd be broke.

You are SOOO right! I have the 1/500 space battleship Yamato and judging by that I would pay anything to see Bandai do the Enterprise!!

One advice I might give: Initial prices are a bit too high. So do not order in the first two or three weeks after a new model was released. The prices will fall then. :)

The price for the A-Wing on Amazon started out in the mid-$30 range and has now dropped to $28. Right now the Clonetrooper is in the low $30s, so I'm waiting until it settles in around $25. Still, for what you get the kits are still worth it at the higher price. But enough of that. Come on, baby, gimme a B-WING and TIE BOMBER!!!!!!!!

So true!
People eager for new releases tend to pay what ever it takes to get it soonest, wait a month and supply/demand will sort itself out.

I have a number of kits (still unbuilt) I wish I had waited later to buy- the prices are much lower than what I paid for them.

The problem is there's a "sweet spot period"

Too soon, they are over priced as sellers are cashing in on demand

once that dies, prices drop to more reasonable levels

until...they start showing up out of stock for too long on places like HLJ or discontinued

then they skyrocket again, especially when discontinued

I will have to start ordering my own new releases now.:behave My co-worker, who has lived in Japan for the last two years, is home now. He has gotten me every new kit at cost for the last year. So, no new releases in the $18-$20 range for me anymore.:cry

That is until someone else from the company goes over there!!!:cool

The TFA Stormie taught me a lesson in patience (every good Jedi should be patient, yaknow ;) ). Its price dropped from 27 to 16 € / US-$ within six months. The key is to check the prices and the stock numbers regularly. As soon as you find the price reasonable - grab it. :)

Hey guys, this article just popped up on facebook. The one thing I noticed about it is that it referred to an updated bandai tfa falcon being there at the show.

Does anyone have pics of the 1/144 Tfa falcon they showed? I wonder if they fixed the sidewalls

"The line-up of vehicles from The Force Awakens included First Order TIE Fighters, in addition to the updated versions of the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing (including the standard Resistance type and Poe Dameron’s variant)."
