Bandai release schedule

The official comic adaptation of ANH had Vader using the force to float a cup of coffee to him- I guess all imperial headgear have retractable straws built in...
Surely even Vader has to eat. I just assumed he had his food brought to him in his hyperbaric chamber so he could remove his helmet and faceplate.

Yep was familiar with that - almost the exact same thing happened with the battlefront Falcon.

As for changing details - that is often done as a "tell" on models it usually pretty hard to find though.

Hmmm. The way you can tell the Anigrand MF is based on (or a scaled down version of) the 72nd FM MF? If that was the purpose of the parallel mandibles, the hull curvature, the size of the cockpit tube, the size of the dish, the overall size--to see if anyone copies it--well, what is modeling coming to?

I think the suit has the ability to provide nourishment away from the Hyperbaric chamber- it would not make much sense for the Emperor to design something for his apprentice/right hand man which would require a massive device always be nearby for him to sustain himself.

I doubt getting the basic hull geometry wrong was a method of distinguishing a copyright- more of a research error and using the smaller Falcon model instead of the five footer for reference. If Amigrand chose to base their model on the FM one instead of doing their own research then they just copied errors.
Most often copyrights a buried in random detail which looks correct and has a purpose. Some integrated circuits have printed pathways which have a unique shape or even form initials hidden so if the chip design is illegally copied it has to also have the hidden marks duplicated for it to function.
Bandai has such a high level of detail, some of which is hidden that it would be easy to have some unique changes which would not appear obvious to the builder but would make their product uniquely theirs.

I was kind of being facetious. And although the 32-incher has less curvature than the 5-footer, the FM MF is still too flat. FM used the 32-incher but came up with things, like curvature, that don't match the 32-incher.

I just thought of another example. The Tamiya 48th scale F-16C kits have a panel on the upper rear fuselage that is a separate piece--just above and the right of the engine area. Experts have stated there is not reason for this--there is no version of the jet that has a different panel there and there is nothing especially interesting there to want to remove a panel. One theory is that Tamiya planned on a version with working engine sound and that would be the panel you remove/use to turn it on and off. Regardless, it is quite interesting that Kinetic also has this same panel. Seems mighty 'spicious.

I no longer have the kit, but I believe it was a Revell of Germany prepainted Falcon which so closely followed the old Ertl kit that it had the slot for the lighting on/off switch still present in the side wall greebly- the weird thing is that the kit was a different scale (smaller). I am sure R-G had asked permission first, but it was weird seeing that vestigial element carried over so perfectly.

Code 3 did the sculpt of that Falcon, then sold it on to Revell,.....(same way they've got the Master series from FineMolds)

Code 3 followed the dimensions from the MPC kit,....along with the slot you mentioned they also had the 2 rounded squares on Artoo's chest

I think I'm going to get one of those just so I can hack it up but build my own design for the new rogue one tie.

We should have a "who can polish that turd?" Group contest

If the Bandai's TIE Interceptor is a turd, you must have some bowel movements! :eek

No. That's beautiful.

I'm referring to the design of the new rogue one tie.

It looks like it was made with leftover Lego pieces.

Ah. Maybe that competition would be better suited for some MPC/AMT SW models that are still floating around...

Speaking of which (sort of):

Electric Indigo over at Hobby Talk found pics of the TIE Interceptor:

I realize Bandai totally change the location of the display mount on the ship ever since they released there TFA TIEs. Well, I can still relocate them to be consistent with the other OT TIE Fighters. And thankfully Bandai stick to the size of the "Wing" Guns, not compromising the size in order to add the laser effect.

Edit: Is the laser effect at the right place? I think not.

I've been looking for those and they're so expensive on amazon or evil bay.

I've got an MPC X if you want it. I did salvage a piece from the front of the wings though, but there are three more parts just like it if you want to cast one of them. LMK.

I'm not sure I could find a source that's still canonical, but in legends stuff and video games there are definitely laser cannons on the wing tips, plus the chin mounted pair, though according to wookiepedia, they wouldn't typically be used at the same time due to power limitations

The lasers are on the wings, missile tubes are the slots in the side. You see the A-Wings firing missiles at the Star Destroyer shield tower in ROTJ.

I forgot to mentioned. There are 2 short tube on the cannon of each wing tip. One of them has a hole openning. The laser effect on the Bandai is fixed on the tip with no hole.
