Bandai release schedule

I still hope for this (plus the Radar-Dish and Docking-Rings from Episode 7):

Like I posted in the other thread, I love Bandai, but...they teased us with an AT-AT, they teased us with an Imperial Star Destroyer, they teased us with a 1/2 R2, now they tease us with a 1/72 Falcon and a 1/2 BB8?

Not holding my breath until I see a release date and price.

Although I totally see where you are coming from, because yes, this looks like a VERY unfinished model, the fact that they seem to be showing off some sort of landing gear box option makes it seem like they are looking towards a consumer product. It's not entirely just for a showcase.

Well, that's true too. Maybe we will see these released closer to Rogue One along with the SD and the AT-AT.

According to Google translate, the text reads:

"Most of surprise this time Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon! Reference Exhibit. Because looking at the bottom of a whopping 3-legged type EP4! This is by all means I want you to commercialization! !"

So I'm guessing it's a prototype, not yet ready for commercial release.

Looks to me like the panels to either side of the lower jaw-box have seams that suggest the flat panels are optional and can be exchanged for the ESB style landing gear boxes. If so, than this kit would be a winner for me, as I like the ANH version just as much as the ESB version.

I know what you mean. But the AT-AT and SD were display pieces designed to grab your attention. They never had display placards saying "Plastic Model" or the scale. (Correction: except for the SD, which did have a scale)
I think the question is "when".

Yeah, Moonlight SY-3 over at Starship Modeller post this:

Not to get too excited, since both the 1/72 Falcon and 1/2 BB-8 are listed as 参考出品 ("reference exhibit"), but yeah, that's cool! Don't forget all that other cool stuff we've seen displayed but not kitted yet were also all 参考出品 items. The big Star Destroyer, the 1/12 Vader's TIE, the AT-AT, and the 1/4 R2...all 参考出品. None on the shelves yet.

Still, we can dream, can't we??

Over-engineered? How? A lot of the parts are common to all of their figures, by breaking down the parts in the way they have allows for minor changes in tooling to produce a new figure easily.
Interesting to note that although they are not supposed to sell these outside Japan, there is a lot of English in the instructions....

Bandai is now providing bilingual instructions for all their kits. It's a new thing that started in May.

Well, that seems *slightly* over-engineered...

Don't you mean over priced? LOL $332.00?!? It's an awesome kit, but even if I HAD that kind of money to spend on a plastic model kit... I wouldn't. I wish it were cheaper, cause I love it. :)

Just so many bits! I was surprised on the stormtrooper, how many pieces would go together into a sub assembly. I.e., the abdomen armor, with the black bits poking through. Then stickers to cover those. It was fun, but seemed complex for the sake of complexity...

Looks like it'll be easy to cobble together Rex's helmet, though!

chiangkaishecky over at the Starship Modeler forums found this mag scan of the TIE Interceptor:

Okay, are we finally through every possible TIE variant from the movies that's NOT the TIE Bomber? Can we please, for the love of Flying Spaghetti Monster, finally FINALLY get a TIE Bomber??? (Yes, I'm throwing a tantrum because Bandai is spoiling us rotten, but... I want I want I want!)
