Bandai release schedule

I've said this before, but there really could be an actual forum AND wiki on the millennium falcon alone.

I always loved that "ship of riddles" page but at this point, it could be still growing

Sounds good, title as a group build and as soon as mine arrived (shipped yesterday) I'll join yours

Ok its on. I will start the thread tommorow, Im going to have a day of youtube and photo taking. There are no youtube videos on the new Falcon other than Japanese people and picture slide shows.

Cant wait to see this develope :)

I remember last year people complaining, gathering pitchforks and torches at the notion of "Bandai" getting the SW license and issuing "snap together" models. LOL!!!!

Couldn't believe they were questioning them, Bandai does fantastic things with Mech models, including their ship/ex line. Their Macross kits have been fantastic too.

It is the whole 'snap-tite' prejudice. It is likely snap-tites developed a bad rep was due to frankly, sloppy engineering - not because 'press-fit' is inherently a problem. In fact, proper press-fit kits require *better* tooling because of the necessarily tighter tolerances (unless you don't care.) Pegasus Models' line of 1/48 scale aircraft is a case in point: they look good, fit fine and make into "proper" scale models - perfect fodder for the beginning/novice kit assembler (the ~$10 price tag doesn't hurt either...so good for 'clothes horses' too!) And being press-not-snap-tite kits (almost like Lego) they can be put together and then taken apart repeatedly if desired. They also come with peel & stick appliques and waterslide decals. So, not a problem (unlike many Revell Snap-Tites I've previously built which were aimed at the 'kid' market that usually needed glue to secure at least a few parts... perhaps the SW line of kits will be better in at least that regard.)

Regards, Robert

While we're at the topic of Bandai and model kits, they're kind enough to shoot promotional videos showing how model-kits are made from the design stage to packaging.

AFAIK, this video will be nearly a decade old now but still a good rundown of their operations.

They've shot something newer, focused more on the moulding proccess, a good show for how much manual labour is still being used.

Are we going to see a list of the year ahead like we did last year?

I dont seem to be able to start a group build thread, i cant find the options to make it a group thing, any help?

Man that "buy now with 1-click" button on amazon is tempting.

I really have to stop buying falcon stuff. Maybe I should sell my amt falcon w/ blue moon sidewalls kit that I haven't started yet.

Just got my Bandai T-70 today. I ordered it 9 days before the Bandai Falcon and it came last Friday! So, we now know the Falcon can travel faster than the new T-70 X-Wing!

Love Bandai engineering. But is it just me, or do the panel lines and detail seem heavy handed on the x-wings? (Same problem with the Revell kits) I'd love to see these with delicate panel lines like we see from Hasegawa and the like.

I thought that at first, but then I started looking at fine molds x-wing build and they look way too smooth.
