Bandai release schedule

I would check off everything and put quite a few extras on that form.

Oh I did. I buy every star wars kit they put out and typically one or more duplicates. I live in Asia so they are cheap and readily available. It has become a little disturbing. As of last count, I have over a hundred-star wars kits in my backlog.
When I first moved here, you could buy bandai star wars kits in most retail stores. Heck, even the grocery store sold them. Now, they are available online but I haven't seen one in stores since around the time Solo came out. Marvel is much more popular here and the youth who do like star wars are unhappy with the sequel trilogy. One of my students yesterday told me that now it was over, it seemed like they set a lot up and never delivered on the anticipation.
I think if Bandai sticks to OT kits they have a chance to reinvigorate the line over here but there is next to no interest in anything since rogue one.
Despite that, I buy every kit I can find. Half to support the line and half to stash in case bandai gives it up. I buy a lot of stuff from bandai and also purchase most of their gundam kits and I feel like there has been a big shift in the company's focus in the last year or so. They seem to be putting more effort into products for little kids and less for older model builders. The gundam line has changed drastically and given the tremendous drop off in interest in star wars kits over here, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they dropped the license.

1/72 Thai Bomber? WTH is that?

Family Guy Star Wars has integrated so much for me that I can't watch certain scenes without thinking of the jokes.

For example, the comment when the Imperial Officer says hold your fire, there are no life forms, I always here the quip of "what are we paying by the laser now"

I can attest to this as well. I visit Japan regularly and the love for new star wars has fallen off a great deal since Rogue One. I was sent a survey a few weeks back from Bandai and they asked about kits I would be interested in. Interestingly they had larger scale death stars (both I and 2) as well as a moving AT-AT model in the options. If I recall, about 2/3 or the vehicles they were considering were the smaller box scale kits and I feel like almost everything was more or less original trilogy stuff. I seem to recall seeing a couple of things from the prequels as options but nothing for new vehicles from the new movies. I took a screenshot of some of the options they had on one of the pages but didn't take pics of all of them. Hopefully, some or all get made at some point. That is, if Bandai actually keeps the license and there are rumors that they give it up in July

Not many 1/72 scale on that list to build out their line.

But I'll take the Thai Bomber for sure !!!

On a side note. It is interesting to hear all your perspectives on the Sequel Trilogy and it's failings. As well as younger generation lack of interest. I see this with my kids as well.

I often visit a forum for 1/6 collectibles and like on most Star Wars forums there has been a lot of debate about the ST. There are always a couple that believe it's great, and won't accept that its been pretty average.

Anyway don't want to start that debate here but it is interesting.

One of my workmates said yesterday "did you know there's a new Star Wars movie out". I think that pretty much said it all....

For me i like the 72 scale, it's not my favorite scale but it is what Bandai have done the craft in. Big enough to not take over the WHOLE house but enough to get great detail. Just my 2 cents.
I like to mix and match the standing figures between craft. 72 scale figures are not that hard to get a hold of and/or modify.
I want to get a slave 1 in 72 but $200+ for a fine molds is a little outta range at the moment. i have the perfect grade falcon and all the other 1/72 craft.
it just seems funny that some of these like the slave 1 can fetch that kinda money and yet no one wants to offer one. the Imperial shuttle is another, the old Ertle kit is just crazy priced. and the Republic Star Destroyer.
with Banai's quality i would pay right close to that for a slave 1 or an Imperial shuttle.
I hope the 1/72 AT-AT really comes to life!
Same with the Razor Crest! there is one on Etsy but i dont have a 3D printer yet. i would like to stay with polystyrene if possible.

I'm still hoping for a 1/48 scale line of fighters. It's just a fool's hope, but it's a hope.

At least I have the 1/48 X-wing. I guess I can splurge for a 1/48 Thai Fighter ;) from Fine Molds. Actually the twin pack TIEs from AMT are close to 1/48.

Edit: The price on the Fine Molds 1/48 TIE has gone nuts!

Even with TROS merch sales being soft, the one thing the Blockade Runner has going for it is that it's a fairly major OT ship and made appearances in the PT and Rogue One. It's a SW icon, regardless of TROS. If Favreau and Filoni manage to work it into Mandalorian somehow, that would only help matters.

It would be nice to see a BR n 'The Mandalorian' but I do hope they manage to keep from being a merchandising toy of the week venue...

The impressive thing about Baby Yoda to me (aside from just how damn cute he is) is that Disney could have made a fortune had they let merchandising get a heads up about the character so product could be available before Christmas. Instead they kept it under wraps while allowing other minor details leak to keep the fans anticipation going. Baby Yoda is one of the most significant elements in that series- it drives the narrative at times and it must have taken extraordinary control to keep it secret until the first show when there was millions to be made. Now that it is out we have everything from plush dolls to replicas being offered on RPF.
I have heard Disney's decision to hold back on the reveal described as a tragic marketing mistake, but I respect it. I was surprised as hell when at the end of the episode I finally saw what the bounty was all about.
People like to say the Mouse is all about the money, but I feel this is one example otherwise.
