On YouTube there are some videos on how to paint models in the "ilm" style ,.if that's what you are after?
A few therpf members have a YouTube channel.
I can think of two at the moment John Simmons channel"John Simmons scale modeling" on YouTube and Flyscriber(Andy Preston) has a video over there about how he paints an AT-AT ilm style channel name"Andy Preston Miniature Replicas"
If so, are you specifically looking to use Archive-X paints or are you open to using Tamiya or some other paint brand? (for me personally, Tamiya is easier and cheaper to get for me at least)
if not, then a rattle can paint might be a good start
once you have a base color down there are a few approaches you can use
you can do some mist coating with lighter/darker colors, but that will require an airbrush for best results and might have more of a learning curve
another option is to weather with oil paints to do the streaking and grime. This is a bit more forgiving
Thank you both for the quick answers, I will definetely have a look at those youtube channels.
I don't have any painting equipment at all so I'm still free as far as the choice is concerned.
Don’t forget, this model is a Bandai kit, be very careful with oil based thinners, it will seep into areas where pressure is tense on the plastic (kits are assembled with no glue with pressure joints) the plastic will crumble & break
