Bandai AT-ST in Caunter scheme.

Hi all. I’ve been working on this AT-ST for a group build consisting of anything from the SW universe in an alternative camouflage scheme. I decided on the Caunter scheme after seeing a digital render by that man Andy Moore. I also decided to build a Tamiya Matilda in the same scheme and scale, and so I could use the extra kit decals. Makes for some story about one tank passing through a reality alternating rift and morphing into the walker, or some such daftness.

I have really been enjoying this wee project, and hope y’all get a kick out of it too!

The story so far…

The other camo colours are on, using the AK real color Caunter scheme set.

Decals chipped slightly, pin and panel line wash then matt varnish, and this is where the project is as of today.

Have dust and dirt still to add and some detail painting on the Matilda but nearly there.

Thanks for looking in!

Dang, that looks so cool!
Thanks Steven!

I have just dusted them with some Tamiya deck tan to bring the colours together and I’m calling it done. I managed to snap the face piece when removing it to get to the tape over the ”eyes”, hence the large scar down the right hand cheek! Also notice in the pics I managed to replace the windows the wrong way round but that“s an easy fix.

Some more pics of the finished Walker.

Thanks Analyzer, Thanks Sean, masterjedi322

They came out better than I could have hoped for. The Matilda is tiny compared to the modern tanks I have been building lately! Will be interesting to have a 1/48th shelf to compare subjects.

Thanks again, Jim.

Beautiful job! That paint and weathering are stellar. I have this kit and ever since the Mandalorian show have wanted to build and paint it up like that one seen in the farmers episode.

Thanks bwize! Yeah the Mandalorian walker would be cool. It’s a great wee kit, I bought another as I was working on this as I see at least one more in my future.

That is super cool! Well done. I love it when people do something completely different to what the instructions tell you to do
I've often thought about getting a Bandai AT-AT and doing it in a splinter camo of sorts. Might just have to now

Thanks Madhatter, check out this thread over on britmodeller, it’s where I got my inspiration from, lots of interesting schemes rendered digitally;

I need to add a Bandai AT-AT to my stash, just the small size that has stopped me so far, I do have the large Revell but have been waiting for a more detailed big version…

thanks again, Jim.

Funnily enough I used to be a member there and I know that thread but alas, I got banned over something trivial. Stupid really but life happens.

The world of tanks inspired many designs and spawned many greeblies. I am a ”Colonist” therefore a big fan of British armor, aircraft & warships.
Yeah Searun, tanks are my main builds, however I enjoy Star Wars hardware just as much, I’ve built a couple winged things which isn’t my first love, however I did a 1/35th ah-1z viper helicopter recently and that was a blast.

As for British armour, over the first couple of lockdowns I built 1/35th Chieftain and Challenger 2 in Berlin brigade urban camo schemes, the latter of which is my avatar on here just now, plus a desert version of the Chally 2, so I share your appreciation!
