Back to the future 2015 NIKE's

Wow. Really good job. So quick too. We should probably find two or more people to help with creating the actual shoe that will be stitched to the sole. In addition, would someone be interested in helping with the electronics?

Thanks guys.

OK...I have a question.

These shoes:

are different than these shoes:

Hoverboard.png

in that there is a white "inlay" between the speckled sole and the waffled bump outs on the sides.

These are just completely different on the bottoms:

I am going with the look of the screen cap on the hoverboard, unless there are "hero" and "stunt" versions. Which one is which?

I know from watching the DVD that Zemekis mentioned the sneakers having to be glued to the hoverboard, which I'm assuming is the case on the screencap provided. If you look really close at the some screencaps, you can see what looks like pink caulking on the soles. Someone does have to decide whether to replicate the "replica" or the onscreen source. I would go with the screencaps, but it's up the the man sculpting ;). We should have pretty detailed pics of either.

I would have to say that you should make the shoes that Marty walks around in and seem to be the ones in the top picture. Anyone else agree?

I think that the top and the middle are essentially the same. I agree that we should concentrate on making ones that are as accurate to the ones Marty ACTUALLY wears in 2015 as possible. If we pull this off it will be AMAZING.

Javamonkey,
Is there any way that you can get the finshed soles molded and send a cast rubber pair to me in LA. I want to help in this project and would love to construct the top part of the shoe. I think that a thin layer of durable foam rubber was covered with Grey stretch material and White leaterette for the rim and tongue.

I have put the word out for someone to do the electrical work and that must be done during the molding phase. Any thoughts?

Upon looking more at the pics and screen caps, I think they are the same shoe also. It looks like the rubber that was used yellowed over time.

I am talking to a member over at bttfparts that may be able to do the following:

1) install the Blue, Yellow, Orange amd Red LED's
2) integrate litesheet for the NIKE strap
3) wire these all together with a small replacable battery pack
4) install a indescreet on/off switch

That would be amazing. Just for organization, who all is committed to doing what? I think we have everything covered at this point? Is there anything we can do to help those involved in the actual production of the shoes? More reference? Do we need Jmtwo to help with the engraving for the strap?

P.S. Another reference photo: http://www.yourprops.com/view_item.php?movie_prop=9817

I think we may need Jmtwo at some point. I think the hardest thing will be getting everyone involved to be able to all be working in conjuction and at the same time with each other. First and for most we need a pair of completed, molded and clear rubber cast soles with all the texture and everything ready to go. I know I will need help with the top part, but I am 100% commited to making these shoes and I will invest my time and money into it. I finally think that I see the light at the end of the old river rock tunnel for these......anyone catch that reference????

Here's what we need to use for the NIKE strap logo...

The Ice Blue looks to be spot on...

That does look perfect.

Hey fellas, like I said, just tell me what you need and when and I'll be more than happy to help out. Plus Javamonkey is doin' them just the right size. :thumbsup (not that I'd ever wear them)

Tom, don't sell those, just donate them to the cause. :p

Are you putting those on Ebay so that you can ready for the ones were all helping to make? Good thought.. ;)

I love that ours could be worn by me as well...we will have to make smaller ones at some point though.

Wow, this project's really beginning to take off. That's great. :thumbsup

I'm wondering how all the parts will come together... Looks like there'll be plenty for me to learn in this thread. B)

So just to be clear, this is how the progress on the shoe stands:

1.) Javamonkey making the base for the soles.
2.) Jedifyfe sculpting the soles onto the base and creating outside "shell."
3.) Jmtwo helping Jedifyfe with electronics as well as former members of BTTF forum.
