Babylon 5 - what order would you introduce someone to it?

My nephew keeps seeing my Babylon 5 DVDs and asking about watching it. While I think he might be too young (9) to understand some things, I think it has enough action that he might like it. So I'm wondering what order to show it to him. Should I start with In The Beginning or with the pilot? The only problem with showing ITB first is that he would have no idea who Londo was, but it kind of sets up the whole series. Suggestions?

I would start with ITB.

I hope you nephew enjoys the Series as much as I have

This is on my list of shows to watch (along with like several hundred:))
I'm going to start with the pilot, you know if you watched the show back when it was on TV, everyone watched it in the order it was presented.

For an adult, I'd say avoid ITB for a while - learning the truth about Londo as well as Delenn would spoil some surprises.

But for a kid, those shocking revelations wouldn't mean as much, so ITB would be as good a place as any to start things.

Start with the pilot, and go through it in order... I've been rewatching B5 with my 12 year old, and he' s having no issues following along

We just started season 4

I won't show him In the Beginning until last, because... I don't want to spoil several of the big reveals in the show for him. He was so excited when he found out about why the Earth Minbarri war ended, and who Sinclair really was... What happened with Lando and G'kar etc. I'd hate to have robbed him of those "oh wow" moments.

No, don't skip 1. There's some good stuff there. Just skip episodes like "TKO"

And regarding 1, apparently Michael O'Hare was a real ******* on set. I was listening to Jerry Doyle on his show this week talk about him and after how he died he didn't want to give a quote that was 'nice' to a reporter. Apparently Michael was extremely abusive on set, even punching a woman in the stomach after she forgot a line.

Yes. Sometimes I have a hard time separating the actor from the role. Sometimes it affects my enjoyment of certain things.
