Babylon 5 PPG

With the recent discussion of B5 in the OT I broke down and bought it all, and half-way through I really want a PPG. So what's out there? I know there are resin ones out the wazoo, but did anyone ever make a metal hero? If so, were they any good?

Last year Rich Coyle was making some noise about doing a metal PPG. I don't know if it ever went anywhere.

My only concern over the SidKit is it's resin. I don't want to go through the hassle of getting the appropriate pieces painted chrome, so I was hoping to dig up info on a metal one with all the bells and whistles.

Very true, the only one i've seen that was metal was the one that rich was working on, over on the dewbackwing someone was making a full metal version, but never got around to finishing it

Several years ago, S.D. Studios produced a very limited run of the PPG. It was made entirely from aluminum and used the correct grips. The power pack could be pulled from the rear of the blaster.
Another talented propmaker made his version of the PSI Corp. PPG. While not screen accurate, it was a hefty, all metal, piece that truly made you feel that you were holding a real firearm. A great addition was the hand carved wooden grips, similar to the grips found on a Mauser broomhandle. Custom made PSI Corp emblems were imbedded on both sides. The power pack was also removable.

I have always wanted an all machined metal PPG. Just never seemed to be in the right place at the right time. :(

Those PPG pics are fantastic

I am indeed working on a run of CAST metal PPGs.

If you remember my resin models these will be the same.

And have the same features, made from a very accurate copy of a real studio model.

They come with the lights and sound features of my plastic model:
plug in a power cap and it plays the power up sound and the small red led in the sight lights up.

Pull the trigger and it plays the firing sound effect and a super bright LED is fired within the main barrel.

Contact racprops@cox.net if interested.

This is what you can wind up with when you are in the right place at the right time (that and the prop gods smile on you. ;) ).
Oh, almost forgot. This PPG is not a replica.
