Babylon 5 - Appreciation Thread

Legend of the Rangers had a ship in which the weapons system was operated by someone doing martial arts. Therefore your argument in invalid. :p

Intuitive weapons systems that take the fighting ability of a person and translate it into weapons fire is actually kind of badass. It was the filming solution that sucked (really, greenscreen wirework?)

Besides, Crusade had the incredibly craptastic X-Files ripoff episode, with suit clad aliens, one tall and lanky, one with red hair/tendrils, and one smoking a cigarette. YOUR argument is now invalid.

Bah! The only thing worth watching is the Pilot and the Series, the rest is trash! :lol

No, because in a prolonged firefight you don't want your gunner to be too tired to throw a punch to blow up a ship. It takes a lot less energy, and computer processing power, to push a button. The 'punch to shoot weapons' was stupid as crap.

Plus, Legend of the Rangers tried to make something that was then even older or more dangerous than the Shadows, when it was pretty much stated that they were the oldest things remaining in the Milky Way and the Shadow War solved that problem.

As petty as it is, one of my biggest beefs with "Legends" is that they got rid of the Anla'shok uniform, when we know (without getting into spoilers) that it stays unchanged for... a while.

Good going! "Deconstruction of Falling Stars" is one of my favorite episodes. Would have made a great series finale.

That was indeed a fantastic episode for the end of a season !

Another one I liked (although I can't remember the title off-hand) had to do with B4 & time-travel (the second episode dealing with that) where so many elements of the past, and glimpses into the future, are all shown briefly, and then they come together over the rest of the season.

Brilliantly done !

Zathros not good at knowings, good at doings just not good at knowings! :lol

So what props will you be working on from the Series?

It was the episode where some of those glimpses showed that John S. & Delenn were married, a one-eyed G'Kar strangling Londo, etc. The episode had John S. in a space-suit jumping back & forth in time because his time stabiliser thingybob got damaged.

So what props will you be working on from the Series?

For the time being, I'm just enjoying the show

............ OK, OK, don't twist my arm so much

I have already bought something small, and intend to do one or two simple things

BTW, who the heck is Uncle Joe you keep mentioning
lol.gif
?

Joe S the creator, writer, and chief glass washer of the show!!
AKA: J. Michael Straczynski

Alan, JMS has also done his fair share of comic books & graphic novels, if you're at all interested in that kind of thing. They are some of the best I've ever read, I can tell you that. The latest series I read, which had an INCREDIBLE storyline, was called: Supreme Power. Look for: Vol. 1: Contact, Vol. 2: Powers & Principalities, & Vol. 3: High Command. REALLY excellent reading.

OT: <3 B5!

Getting the feeling that JMS is as controversial as JJA & his interpretation of Trek
lol.gif

I'll just say I love B5 & leave it at that
