Hey all,
We added a really cool piece to our movie prop restoration page today with images of one of our latest projects.
This incredible demon head was made for the movie Soulkeeper by the KNB Effects crew. I just love how bold and strong the design is on this big, bad beastie.
Patrick Louie was lead artist on the restoration here and after careful cleaning, he went on to treat and retexture quite a few damaged areas on the head. Several horns were missing, but since the horns are a repeating element, we were able to mold and cast original horns to make perfect replacements.
As always, hours were spent on spot painting only the repairs, carefully matching the aged tones of the original prop, maintaining originality and authenticity, and bringing things back to life WITHOUT a reckless or drastic repaint of the whole head.
We also made a custom welded wall mount for the piece, with a gothic faux stone plaque to hide the mounting.
Plenty of pics below, but please click our banner to check out our website for similar projects.
And as always, we've been showing behind the scenes pics of this one on our Facebook page. Please join us there if you like this sort of thing! http://www.facebook.com/TomSpinaDesigns
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy the pics!
best regards,
Tom
