I also found an article on Alien vs. Predator Galaxy - For the latest Alien Covenant News, which listed the following details for the (Region 2) UK version.

AVPR DVD Special Features
DVD/Blu-Ray News | Posted by Darkness on 11 Feb 2008 19:41 GMT
Here's some early details of the special features on the AVPR DVD straight from the BBFC website. This is for the Region 2 (UK) set.

- Audio Commentary By Directors Colin And Greg Strause and Producer John Davis
- Audio Commentary By Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis
- Building The Predator Homeworld (6m 35s)
- Fight To The Finish: The Making of AVPR (12m 13s)
- Science of the Hunter (10m 44s)
- The Nightmare Returns - Creating the Aliens (7m 33s)
- Science of the Xenomorph (11m 16s)
- Deleted Scenes (19m 52s)
- Crossbreed: The Predalien (8m 19s)
- Primitive Design: Creating the Predator (10m 24s)
- Prepare For War: The Making of AVPR (15m 50s)

So the big surprise here is the deleted scenes. Twenty minutes worth. I guess this means the UK will only get the theatrical cut while the US will get the Extended/Unrated cut. Thanks to DazAvP01 for the news.

Update: Seems the UK may very well get the Extended version after all. Two cuts of the movie were submitted this month. One version was 89m 53s and the other 96m 54s.

:D So according to this, it appears that a few extras may not be on the DVD's released here in the US. Although, it could just be an error missed in the details because I'm sure I won't be the only one pissed off if the US releases don't include these features:

- Science of the Hunter (10m 44s)
- Science of the Xenomorph (11m 16s)
- Deleted Scenes (19m 52s)
- Primitive Design: Creating the Predator (10m 24s)

In the follow-up to the worldwide hit, Alien vs. Predator, two of the deadliest extra-terrestrial lifeforms from two of the scariest film franchises ever wage their most brutal battle yet in an unsuspecting Colorado town.

When a Predator scout ship crash-lands in the hills outside the town, Alien facehuggers are released in the crash, and an even more evil creature - a hybrid Alien/Predator - is also released. A man & his son hunting in the forests near the crash site soon become the first victims of the facehuggers, and when a Predator receives data about the crash on his home planet, he comes to Earth. One at a time, the inhabitants of the town become targets of the Aliens and the Predator, including the local sheriff, a young female soldier recently returned from Iraq, and several teens. Though the National Guard is called in, they are unable to stop the deadly creatures, and a plan is set in motion to destroy the town with a nuclear device...

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man I hope they do a gift set like Blockbusters did with the first AVP.

I am SOOOOO getting the 2-disc version of this; those featurettes sound sweet!

Man, I'm so glad to see studios starting to get behind the red-band trailers, too. I never saw the red-band trailer for AVP:R - guess I'll have to wait to get the DVD.

Or...

If you don't want to wait for the DVD to view the redband trailer, just click on the link below. All these new redband trailers are always available online first before they show up in theaters anyway.

Hey - I just noticed the 2-disc version of AVP:R is supposed to have a "Digital Copy download feature"; anybody know what that means? It's the only one of the features I don't understand; aren't ALL DVDs by definition "digital"?

Well, I gotta agree w/ you about this being quite an odd sounding title for an extra feature for a dvd. But there's been a "Digital Copy download feature" available floating around the web for the past two months already!

Honestly, I've no idea what this feature is...but then again, we'll soon be able to check it out for ourselves first-hand in under two weeks time!

I looked this up online (Google is your friend!); apparently the "Digital Copy download feature" means that the 2-disc special edition DVD of AVP:R comes with a special version of the movie that you can automatically load onto your iPod!!!

I've only seen a couple of movies doing this so far ("Family Guy: Blue Harvest" is the only one I can think of off the top of my head); I think it's an awesome feature, and I can't believe that AVP:R is gonna be one of the first DVDs to do it. Predator action on-the-go - that is freakin' cool as HELL!

that ipod thing sounds cool.... anyways... so today i purchased P2 again 'the definitive edition' as my original kept jumping as the disc got scratched... however the cover to this has a pic of WOLF on it... its a nice tin edition and looks slick but why the hell is wolf on it

I have always wondered that. Strange.

This was just one more detail which got seriously screwed up by the morons working at Fox.

Since this new "definitive edition" of P2 was released during the same time AVP-R was in post-production & the first few images of the Wolf were also just starting to get released from Fox. It's most likely fairly safe to assume that one of the idiots working at Fox was asked to submit a shot of the Predator for the new dvd edition, this moron likely submitted the wrong image simply because the ******* didn't even know there was a difference. Fox proved once again they don't even want to bother w/ the details in regards to this franchise, but this was a MAJOR detail. Fox should be ashamed of themselves for releasing this edition of P2 when its cover displays an image from a different film which wasn't even made until more than 15 years AFTER P2! But Fox knew people would still go out & buy it anyways. They screw up & then still get to earn more profits from the Predator fans all around the world.

I don't know if you guys have seen this new cover, from futureshop.ca

Will Fox make up their minds? We have now a gazillion different editions / covers, and all are basically the same crap.

I agree lukakovach the same crap different covers....
I think they should release a single edition with all the cover photos as screen savers. that would be sweet instead of buying all different editions with the same crap in them.
