I'd like to take this occasion to discuss some observations on the new predator:
1. Compared to the beige and browns we've seen previously, this pred's got a greenish hue, a la BDE. It's not bad, kinda like that.
2. Never been a big fan of the P2 style head, of which this is similar. My hang up over it is that there's so much detail added to the head, but yet the body remains relatively smooth "The Klingon Effect". My feeling is that if you're going to add detail to the head, you need to add it throughout the body.
3. Taking that into consideration, take a look at the predalien's mandibles and tusks. They are like the ones seen on Scar, which you would expect because he was the host. But, here's where the AVP2 folks have put themselves in a corner with the pred redesign. If Scar has only 4 tusks, and the predalien resultingly has only 4 (which makes sense), why does the Wolf pred have multiple tusks? Because the predalien is derived from a 4 tusk pred, and because it is carried over from the last film, you now create a paradox if you alter the new pred in the next film. There's a couple of things that could have been done here. You either leave the new pred with 4 tusks, or add multiple tusks to the predalien. Either way, both these characters need to have common physical features to ensure proper continuity. This is what happens when things get changed film to film.
