AVP Armor Templates By VinMan

A combo of a few things.

1) I have a few sheets of sintra plastic that when boiled or heated in an oven you can shape really nicely.
2) 5 gallon plastic buckets
3) large diameter PVC pipe

It may be a while before I get to working on them but I am trying to get the templates built so I can knock them out one at a time.

here is another

Hey VinMan!
I've been using the Sintra for a long time and have made all sorts of neat stuff now. Thanks so much for the advice!!!

So a really quick question I looked further to see you answer but didn't see it:
To get the hammered look does the hammered paint do it or did you use something to get that look and the hammered paint helped it?
Thanks!
Jason :D

Brother, these are SWEET! I have a buddy who is a general contractor. Gonna see if he can snag me the 5 gal empty buckets from his painters. I even thought about calling some of the painting crews and finding out where there big projects are located so I can go dumpster diving, LOL.

Quick question: are you willing to email the actual Indesign files? Thanks for all of your hard work!

No plans in the near future my friend.

I am just coming out of a divorce. After 18 years my wife has informed me that she was never in love me to begin with.
I am starting over from scratch.

All my energy is going to be focused on creating a new home that is suitable for raising my two kids.

I am seriously scaling back my efforts for a while.

oh sorry about that.

Vin-
I am very sorry to hear of your current life situation. I went through a divorce, not a fun time.

On a different note, I love the templates that you have provided. I am using them to make a couple of suits of armor. I used your templates as guides, and re-drew them to be cut at my work. I will be using different thicknesses of sintra and styrene, and will be posting progress images in a more appropriate thread. Just wanted to say here that your guides, for this armor and the other guides you have posted are awesome and making things much easier for me to begin my build.

Thanks, and good luck!

thanks for the kind words

each day gets a little easier but it is still rough after 23 years I was stunned. But I didn't realize how much of myself i had to give up to try and please her
Now I can get back to being me again and it ain't half bad!

When life hands you a lemon set up a lemon aid stand bitches!

can't wait to see your progress

may i ask what foam did you use? and what you used to seal it up?

its called foamies or soft foam

its comes in various sizes and thicknes....very light in weight and easy to bent into shape

Okay.
You my good friend are amazing, this is my next hobby and i look forward to taking the challenge to making one of these for my self.
Okay, so these foamies you guys mention quite alot, what size sheets do i want if am making all of the armor and also how many sheets.
Also i haven't Made A Predator skin yet, so would it be okay for me to make the armor parts first?
And 1 more thing, if it is okay to make the armor first, when i get around to making a skin, how would i strap these armor parts to my body?

Thankyou so much Hunters, you are all such an inspiring group and i look forward to your reply.

Thankyou.

Thankyou.

the sheet i got was 1mtr by 3mtr long and it was £7.99

and it was enough for 2 full sets of armour

I was looking at the templates for the chest armor and noticed there aren't much to the back pieces aside from mirror images of the fronts. Are there more details to the back portion of the armor, or are the details making up the backpack and medkit taking those up?
