AVP Armor Templates By VinMan

the blades are longer than an 8.5x11 sheet. Most of them that have fixed sizes like thighs groin cod etc have measurements. But some do not. You are jut going to have to dive in and decide what works best for you. There are no rules here.

Hey Vinman,

Thanks a ton for taking the time to bring us these templates. Never thought I'd be able to knock out so much armor within 2/3 days until I was directed to this thread. Your work is much appreciated. I just have one quick question. For the shoulder vent trim is there a vent trim on each side of the shoulder armor or just the front? Look through some pics of others works using these templates and I haven't seen a back shot of their suits to tell.

Much thanks,
Joe

Hi all thought you all might like to see some finished armour using foam and the templates above

awesome! what foam did you use? how did you make those pointy tips at the bottom of each plate? :)

just put a bit of glue on the underside and pinch the top and hold till the glue dries
hmmm... will try that!
never worked with such materials.
im a noob but it has always been my dream to make

Hot glue works the best, it dries/cools faster than most glues. So you're not sitting there for 10-20 minutes holding the piece. Also because hot glue is pretty much plastic, you can mold a piece with a curve with it. Just hold it in the shape you're trying to get while it cools.

hi i started with the wrist blades using vinman templates he did an amazing job!!!!

but i did not found the gauntlet template for the blades!!!! i tried to use my imagination but i'm lost

Both sides Bro!

Hey folks,

What thicknesses (mm) are you using for the different pieces?
I have seen it go all the way up to 13mm.

Vinman - thanks for the thread. I'm sure those templates will become invaluable in time for anyone new or old trying to put together a great AVP style rig.

i dont get it,if i print the template then cut it out of foam its still 2d i cant wear it how do you get the gauntlet to aucualy be able to fit on hand,if u under stand where im coming from lol

Thanks a load for the huntorial VinManMac!!!

This will help out a lot considering I'm on a tight budget. I was going to try to cast but: [1] It seems like it cost a LOT of money to purchase the material. I maybe wrong, but the Dragonskin silicon was about $175/gal. and I'm on a budget due to finances [2] Even though I looked at Hez's thread hundreds of times and contacted him, I'm still lost on the process of molding and making the cast/mothermold--LOL, complete newb here.

I'm looking at using foamies, but I wish I could find them here in the states. All I found so far are Foam Boards from Michael for $63 for a 3/16" X 20" X 30" piece.

Again---thanks for the huntorial, helps out a lot!!!

But are these the foamies you mentioned:

hey munson

yeh thats the ones, but i got a bigger roll from hobbycraft, they do a roll of 1mtr wide by 3mtr long and it is £6.99 , i did all of my armour on it and still have some left....

hope this helps

Thanks djgs,

I found a local hobby store that has it in 2mm x762 mm x 1524mm (2mm v 30 in x 60 in) for approximately £7.17 ( $11.00). It's within driving range so it's not that bad--a "win win". o_O

Thanks for your assistance.

I'm going to try and find some things around the house to make the gauntlets, cannon, and pack, and try to make them out of the foamies too.

Thanks for the tip, too bad I didn't read it earlier--I'm sitting here holding a piece now for about 15 mins. How well does the hot glue hold? And if I hold it in the desired shape until it cools, the hot glue will keep the form?

Thanks for the tip!
