Avengers style Hawkeye and Nick Fury Costume W.I.P.

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

Do you have a link to the video you are talking about? I would love to see the pants from some different angles. Also am curious on the buckles for the vest, and where those might be from as well.

They're a seperate piece; there was a short video released a week or so ago showing the final shooting scene w/ ScarJo and Renner. Although the focus of the video was how everyone was wanting to hug Johannsen for the wrap, it showed Renner without the vest. He's wearing a T-shirt underneath tucked into the pants.
It's possibly cycle gear but I would bet more likely custom made. For a while I thought it may have been a modification to some of the newer tactical pants Blackhawk ITS HPFU V.2 Performance Combat Pants.

Also, I looked at those pants, and I don't think that they are tac pants, as they don't have any additional pockets, and are a lot tighter fit than tac-pants. I am pretty certain that they are motorcycle pants (or possibly moto-x), particularly on account of the kneepads and the area behind the knees. I have found several that are similar, but have yet to find the actual match. I will share if I can find a match.

Looking at it yet more, and getting some support from some of my friends looking at it, I think it is some kind of leggings made of a synthetic fabric, with padded suede kneepads and the weird stuff behind the knee sewn onto it.

I have been thinking from since the first pictures were released that they were motorcycle pants, mostly because for the pads

Yeah, but after looking at countless sets of motorcycle pants, I don't think they are anymore, predominantly because the pad placement on motorcycle pants is more to the outside than center knee.

After looking at all kinds of different pants, I am pretty sure that they modified hiking/adventure pants made of abrasion resistant 4-way stretch material.

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

Here is my plan of attack:

I am going to by tactical pants, mod them, then put them to the side.
Then buy a compression sleeveless shirt and mod it.
Buy boots and then mod them.
Make the props and buy the sunglasses.
Then put it all together.

That works. What are you going to do with regards to the vest?

I'm not completely sold on what they did for the pants, though I will probably buy either some hiking pants or tactical pants of some sort and then mod the hell out of them.

What are you looking at bootwise? they look a bit unusual too, like they are solid up the back of the calf and attached with straps on the front.

For the boots I am custom making the covers and adding them to black leather combat boots.
For the vest I am buying a compression sleeveless shirt, make the marroon pieces and add them to it, add the shield logo, and mod the rest. (as of right now I don't know what I will do for it. All the pieces will be custom made probably.

Cool. I might do the same thing for the boots then. I need to find where to get the right buckles/hardware to mount onto all of it.

I will probably get a compression shirt to wear under, but will probably try to hand make the vest as best as possible (looks to be a few different weights of leather used in it).

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

Sorry for not to many updates. I am having to concentrate my efforts towards my Captain America and Dark Knight costumes to get them done by the time the movie comes out. Please don't rely on templates or reference material coming from me, I will try my best to give some but I can't make any promises.

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

I'm not, I just find it easier to work with others as much as possible when it is possible.

Here is the S.H.E.I.L.D. logo. How is everyone planning on putting it on the costume?

Thanks for the photo. I am planning on putting it on the costume by using velcro, hot glue, or sewing it on. It depends on the fabric I use for the vest and how I create the logo.

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

you could do an Iron On then embroid it if you had the time an skill... that might be a bit of a hassle though...

that is to say that you would print up the Iron On and use it as a template to stitch in the embroidery

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

The logo on his costume looks like it is tooled out of black leather. I will probably do exactly that. Either tool it out of a leather circle, or more likely, cut leather and glue it on top of a leather circle. I will have to look at it really closely to see which would work better.

Re: Avengers style Hawkeye Costume W.I.P.

Looking at it further, it looks like I will probably try a combination of the two, since some parts look like they are indented from the circle, and some parts are raised.
