avengers fan art poster

Okay, I saw this guy's fan poster for the upcoming Avengers movie (see the first poster image below - mine is the second one)... I had been wanting to do something like it myself before I'd even seen this - even had two of the same art elements picked out - but just hadn't taken the time to do it. I really dig this guy's version though - it's quite nice.

I finally got around to doing my version which I wanted to be much simpler with just the primary characters by themselves. I also just wanted to stick with the production art plus the Hulk fan art some guy in Sweden (?) did. I used a very similar (the same?) Iron Man because that pose does balance Thor well.

Anyway, the first fan poster is the other guy's. Mine is the second one. I just wanted to see it the way I had envisioned and I've got no one else but you guys to share this kind of fanboy stuff with... (to either appreciate or hate as the case may be ;) )

Fan art by some other guy that's been floating around online:

Nice use of Riddle as the Wasp. Her costume is incredible!

Yeah, I really like what the guy did with the Wasp outfit. Not so much Hawkeye or Ant-man in particular though. Ant-Man stands out the most because he appears to just be a comic-art version with Nathan Fillion's face shrunk down to the point it's unrecognizable...

I had kind of hoped they wouldn't turn the Avengers film into a huge X3 type circus movie but it sounds like that might be what they're doing. I'd prefer it if they just stuck with the core characters predominantly myself which is why I liked the idea of just using Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and Captain America.

its funny they're using that fan art thats the cross pollination of the 2003 and 2008 hulk.

i prefer bana, his hulk looked like him, only larger and greener and pissed off. thats how it should be if anyone were to grow in size.

Thanks! I was just curious to see what the characters would look like standing next to each other. I couldn't find a good full body shot of the Hulk from the Ed Norton film.

Sorry, Qui... I tried to label it as clearly as I could figure. Maybe if I change it to "avengers movie fan art"? The idea struck me to composite the figures together since the Thor and Captain America art matched so well. Pairing them up with the Hulk and Iron Man seemed like it wouldn't be too difficult and might be cool to see them together at last.

I was ready to see your penciling prowess! :)

I never did like that Hulk when I saw it. There was nothing wrong with the first movie Hulk, nor the second. The first one reminded me of Dale Keown type work. The second was more of a Byrne-ish look.

LOL, yeah, me too... man, it's been too long since I did any real hand drawn art. I guess it's the curse of becoming a "graphic designer"... I probably couldn't draw my way out of a wet paper bag these days.

Yours is way better and comes across as potentially the real deal. His, on the other hand, looks like pure fanboy masturbatory fantasy.
