Avengers: Doomsday

Just cheapens anything that happens.
That is exactly how I feel about Deadpool and why I really hope he won't return. When any situation is a "Disney won't like this" or "Feige says no" it just collapseod any sense of disbelief and makes you aware you are watching a film rather than being immersed in it.

Most important part for his costume !

I disagree. It’s quite different using an actor again in a role they have done before, to using an actor who is synonymous with a specific character in the MCU as a completely different one in another Avengers film.

Which highlights a bigger issue with their priorities.

Who said stop completely. An eight year gap and actor change hardly stopped the James Bond series making money. In fact it arguably made the subsequent film have bigger impact due to the reset.

But using your previous point, why wouldn’t they do crossovers when there’s money to be made from fans?

I can see what reasons they have. I just completely disagree that it is either a good idea, or something that will work when RDJ is, as I said, so inextricably linked with an already existing character.

Of course, but the whole multiverse thing, for me personally has been done to death and only really worked well in the Spiderman film. Why can’t we have a proper Victor Von Doom with another actor to have a chance of making a place for themselves in the MCU?
All valid points.
I suppose regardless how any feels about it, this is happening and it's the simple choice of watch it or don't.

An accent from the continent of Europe, of course. Specifically, something Germanic/Romani/Gypsy-sounding, given the location of Doom’s fictional homeland of Latveria.

Duh.
I think VanPersie was being facetious given Europe is a large continent with many countries featuring a multitude of accents.

I enjoyed Deadpool Vs. Wolverine and that they made fun of the multiverse, etc. but yes I would love it if they never went there. it just cheapens anything that happens.
I’m hoping to go Tuesday, I really hate the Deadpool character even in the comics.. him Wolverine and phantom X all seemed like the same character to me.. over all the weapons X program..

But I am a huge grant Morrison fan, and new xmen was my all time favorite series. So seeing his characters on the big screen is a must for me

I mean, it's not like an actor every did a role using a foreign accent, or even won an award for doing so. I mean, for crying out loud, people have actually been so good at it, people didn't even know they weren't of the nationality who's accent they were using.

That doesn't mean RDJ does an accent, but, like with most things - i'll reserve judgement until I actually see what they do.

Go back 20 years even, people were offended, pissed off, and outraged because they had the audacity to cast a 6'2 guy as wolverine. Seeing as he'll play the role 'til he's 90', i think that worked out OK.

I mean, the literal definition of actor is 'pretending to be someone else'....considering they guy is actually a great actor, maybe he and the writing staff deserve a shot before it's written off.

Seems like any time a new movie is announced anymore, people need to trash it for one reason or another before a single scene is shot. I get things may not seem like they'll work for some people. That's fine, but I guarantee those people have been very wrong about these things before as well as probably being right before. I'm not saying this will result in Endgame level work either, but i've called a bust before only to see the show become one of the most loved things ever...Just emphasizes the fact to wait for the product before trashing it.

I think is was a fair question given the diversity in Europe. I think asking it better would have helped. Asking which European accent would work.

It is funny things like this. I had no idea people south of the U.S. hate it when we refer to the USA as America as the entirety of both continents is called the Americas. Live and learn.

BTW this is a really stupid idea and should never have been done. Come up with something new.

DVW was making fun of the absurdity of the multiverse. Pointing out it is kind of silly. The guy talks to the camera.

Honestly coming out of the theater Thursday I thought they were saying we had fun with it, we poked fun at it, and now we are done with it. I guess not.

For me it ends with Endgame.

WVD is a great end for the messy X men movies.

I am calling it. Time of death 7/27/2024 at whatever time RDJ came on stage.

I always liked you,....until now.

You hate Deadpool!!!!

You are dead to me:mad:

Until I need something from you.:p

Infamous Iron Man

There is also a comics run where the new Iron Man is Victor Von Doom. So this is just the MCU using their film making lens to adjust this kind of story, the same way they've done with other films.

Considering Europe has a good number of countries who have different accents from each other, and even different accents in each country itself, it’s hardly a question worthy of a duh really.

Even using your examples, Romani/gypsy also have many different accents ranging from Irish, Northern Irish, to romanian. Germanic can encompass Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Austrian, Swiss and even English

Duh….

Splitting hairs, and starting arguments over nothing.

Ignored.

RDJ is a good actor and has proven he is willing to totally alter his look for a role, so there's no need to have him be or even resemble Tony Stark at all. Multiverse is unnecessary to the story. There is a path to a good story here, if they take it, that's the hard part. I'm in wait and see mode.

They trash it because they have zero influence and input. They wouldn’t do anything any better because they never tried to even get into the creative fields they gobble up like the pigs at the trough they are. Their only outlet is online discourse where they rage and mewl like the bairns they are. At least they’ll never have anything to do with this stuff creatively.
