I have an asymmetrical image I wish to use as my avatar.

I have it saved in.gif format, with a transparent background.

Yet when I upload it, the background shows up as white.

Tips please ?

If the avatar is too big and the system has to re-size it, the transparency will be removed. So you need to make sure that it is the correct size before uploading it.
