Avatar Props? yes, the animated show.

"Any word on how they're getting around the death of the Mako (Uncle Iroh's voice)?"

they hired a replacement...a student of mako actually...to ease the transition he did some of the voicework in the later episodes of the season...

but anyway...best cartoon on tv and easily in the top 5 shows on tv period...i've wanted to make aang's staff but i know i'm not nearly that good...i have however been planning to make the "lost appa" flyers and offer them as a free paper prop...maybe this thread will get me off my ass about that....skott

Great show!

Cool characters and good story's.

Closest thing I've seen to a prop is an Ang's mask, the arrow lights up on his head if I remember correctly. Saw it at Toys R Us around Christmas time.

The costume that was talked about is my little brother...who just loved it! I made him the staff just plain without the wings, but hey as said...the headache that would be ;)

Thats a super show, the story lines are well written and the animation is super. We have the first season DVD set, looking forward to the second coming out. As well my kids have the plush Avatar Momo and Appa.

Holy Moly!

I need to get my little bro his own Appa and Momo, but do not want to pay the inflated eBay gouging prices...any chance on getting some picked up and sent my way in Canada?

Wow, I missed a lot.

Yes, they have 4 shows completely done. Out of the season of 20. I have done voice recordings for 18 and I hate finding stuff out. But don't ask because I won't tell you.

The shows is doing well and will finish off this 3rd season and then that completes the story arch. Mike and Bryan pitched it as a 3 season series and they are sticking to that. After the show is done there's the M. Night Shymalan movie.

Mako played Uncle Iroh, yes. And he did pass last year. Actually, one of the last shows he did dialogue for was his part of "Tales of Bah Sing Seh" where he has a picnic with his son's picture after helping many people in the city. A touching ending that was given as a tribute to Mako. I can't tell you what they're doing to replace him because I honestly don't know. The little info I have on it is sketchy and I don't want to give away anything and get fired.

I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you.

That was a very well done episode and got my house rather misty after seeing it. :cry

Back to the prop thread..
Anyone know if the lotus tile that shows up so often in the show is a real game item?

Answer- Nope just found out on wikipedia Pai Sho is not a real game.
Here is a site that shows some Avatar items if anyone wants to think about making a prop

How do you know that!? :confused

Nickelodeon passed those out at Comicon last year. Not sure what I did with mine. It was part of a "Find Appa" game.

"How do you know that!?"

it was all over the internet around the end of the last season...i remember reading about it tv.com, imdb, and avatarspirit...i can't seem to find it now...but it was quite a while ago...skott

Well, alright then. You are correct sir. He was a student of Mako. I've only heard a few lines he's done. He definitely got the voice right. We'll see in longer episodes how he handles the character.

I love Avatar and would love some props from it. Especially the paper props. :D

I've done a Katara costume, but I also hand made the necklace and waterskin.

I'd like to tackle the water vial given to her by Pakku at the beginning of Season 2. :)

For those looking to get the plush items, you can contact Kings dominion directly and they can switch you over to the parks selling booth. They will mail out the items, most fo the plush go for about 14- to 20 dollars. The number for the praks customer relations is: 1-804-876-5561, I believe you will need to talk to a Donna for the final arraingements on the shipping.

I took a faux bone/wooden looking button from Jo Ann's, dremeled the sewing loop off the back and painted the design on it. Then covered it in clear coat.

I made the clasp out of sculpy and superglued the button to the clasp.

The band is made out of navy blue moleskin and is secured in the back with velcro.

I sewed the clasp to the moleskin and viola! Katara's Mother's necklace. :D :love
