For those of you who have placed orders for these, THANK YOU!! This thread will serve as a progress thread for those who have commissioned buildups and as a "how to" for those wanting to build there own.
While waiting for the castings of the pods and stems, I'm moving forward with the mods needed for the pedals, leaves and vines. Also, for those ordering full buildups, I have the vintage coffee tins on their way to me as well.
Now, on to the pedals... I'll take pics of the rose I use before I rip it apart next time so you can see what type it is. In the mean time, here's the process for making the modifications I make for each Audrey.
1) Strip the pedals off along with the base green part of the flower. (I use a white rose for my pedals)
2) I airbrush a light coat of green on the edges of the pedals first
3) I then use a toothbrush and spatter a light "mist" of lavender/pink
4) I then go in and airbrush the inside of the pedals with the same color as the flecked spots
5) Last of all I paint in the veins on the outside of the pedals. While this can get a little tedious, it really adds a lot to the overall look of the finished piece.
More tips and pix to come so stay tuned!
