Attakus 2 vs. Sideshow Premium Vader

I am considering getting one of either the Attakus 2 or Sideshow Premium Vader statues. I am looking for opinions on which one is better and more accurate. Someone who owns both or has thoroughly inspected both would be ideal but if you want to offer insight on only one thats ok too.

Any and all help appreciated.

Well, first off, there's a scale difference between the two: the Attakus is 1:6 scale, while the Sideshow is 1:4 scale... so if they cost pretty much the same, you get more by buying the Sideshow.

Regarding accuracy... tough question. I would personally go for the Attakus as it looks better overall... though, it is a "statue", not a large scale "action figure" with real cloth, etc. as the Sideshow... but I would still get that one.

Though... still think the Attakus v1 is better than the v2, but that's just me.

I have the Attakus Vader 1 and the SSC PF vader. I really like both of them but I'd go with SS just because the saber and chestbox/belt light up.

The Attakus is the more expensive I think... I have concluded this by looking at completed auctions on eBay. The Attakus goes for consistently over $300 while the SSPF Vader can go for as low as $230.

I know the SSPF Vader is ANH and the Attakus is ESB. I am more of an ESB Vader fan on the whole but find myself drifting to the ANH Vader lately.

Anyone own any or all of these statues?

I have owned both and prefer the Sideshow 1/4 scale Vader.

After some minor adjustments, it looks really nice.

Attakus 1:5 (not 1:6, they are obviously bigger). Sideshow 1:4.

Both are inaccurate as hell.

Wait for the ulimate Vader (i am sure there will be one someday ;) )

Check out the Medicom Vader - Could be a little bigger, (not quite 1/6 scale), but it's gorgeous and extremely accurate. It's one of my favorite pieces...

I have the V2 Attakus and I can say It's really well made, It' very heavy.
I saw the sideshow in person and I think It's also a nice figure but It looks more plastic than the Attakus.
It's a question of taste.

Here's my Attakus :

How much does that Medicom Vader usually cost?

Iirc in the $160-$200 range. But you are getting a very small figure - 1:7 scale. Would probably fit well with the Kotobukiya kits.?

Thanks to everyone for your opinions.

I think I am going to go with the Sideshow. I just like it better and it's bigger. :)

I picked up A Medicom Vader (ROTJ) for $90...deals can be had if you look. Some inaccuracies, but very nice overall....nicer than the Sideshow IMO. But small, yes...

I have the SSC Vader and am tickled with it. You'll be happy with it.

I have both the SS and Medicom Vader and both are beautiful additions to my collection. As far as value the Attakus has held its own as you have already discovered by going on eBay, but my money is on the other two. Great choice going with the SS figure. Keep in mind its companion piece...Obi-Wan. The circle is NOT complete w/o Ben. :)

Cheers,
~Kevin
