This is a question that has been puzzling me for some time and before I get the stock response of "search for it", i have tried numerous searches and read huntorials etc and still cannot find an obvious answer. My question is this:
Are the mandibles cast from latex and the tusks from resin?
How do you attach the tusk/mandibles onto the main (latex) mask?
I understand the general casting method and that a lot of people cut the mandibles off before casting so that it is easier to do and then separately cast the mandibles and tusks but how do you attach the tusks to the mandibles and the mandibles to the main mask. It was my understanding that latex cannot stick to latex so is there a simple solution like using superglue? I know this sounds like a noddy question and isn't something that I need to worry about at the moment, but having never owned/seen/held a mask it seems to be a part of the casting process that never seems to get explained and it's starting to bug me.
Hope someone can kindly point me in the right direction or let me know.
Cheers
