AT-ST/Veers helmet color

I picked up one of these Laws kits and need to get some paint - Dan says to use a spinach color made by Kilz.
Any other suggestions? 'cause I am having a hard time finding that particular brand/color.

It's one of those colours that looks grey in some lights, and green in others. 501st accept both....

For my AT-ST lid, I used Plasti-Kote 673 Medium Grey, and does look grey/green depending on light..

Should be available in the US......hopefully.....

Others have used other brands with similar results....but the names escape me.

HTH..

Interesting - I thought the color was definitely more green than grey in
the pix at the Laws website:

I have since taken off the greeblies and range finder to reapply. When looking at the helmet the greeblies were not aligned

From what I can tell you need to decide if you are going to do an AT-ST helmet or a Veers helmet. As they are different colors with the Veers being the greenish color and the AT-ST driver being a more grey color, but I'm not an expert on the helmet color.

But I do know metal part pretty well.

On another note have you found an accurate set of goggles?

Most guys use US military sun, wind & dust goggles, but they are more rounded than the screen used ones....

Some motorcross goggles seem to be fairly close, but the straps and lens colour are wrong, so need to be changed...

Currently as of yet, no one has found exactly what was used.... the hunt goes on.

The obikenny greeblies are a must!! That is what I have on my helmet minus the moon shape antenna. I dont believe that he had those when I purchased my set.

Good luck on finding the paint!

The original color was probably some olive green but I think they used
blue filters for the spots so that the color changes. Same with the suit
which looks a bit blueish in certain lighting.

My helmet was sprayed with a coating that is used for machine parts.
As it appears in several gray-green shades depending on lighting I think
it has been a good choice. (Also note the overall which looks blueish in
one of the pics due to the lighting that day - all pics except left top
taken outside)

It might not look like the actual prop but it looks more like the impression
you got on screen - which is more important to me.

I just picked up these ("retro" goggles) at mxoutfit.com:

The lens will either have to be tintned with film or replaced, but the shape is decent. The strap will, of course, also need to be replaced.

It's green! Not gray!!!! The gray notion originated from the old action figure I think, coupled with bad images. Every photo of quality that I've checked out has shown Veers to be wearing green (in and out of armor) and in green armor. Watching the HD broadcast on my brand new 42" plasma TV also showed it green.

Sorry...pet peave of mine.

+1

it bugs me too that people still claim it was gray :angry
The off screen shots of Veers people alway seem to referance for looking gray are totally flooded with bright light, just look at the shadow he cast...
