Assassin's Creed Ezio input/suggestions needed

Hey everybody, it's my first post!

My wife and I are working on an Ezio cosplay for myself. She's handling the sewing/cloth parts and I'm doing the armor and leather work. This is my first attempt at fabrication and I'm using Sculpty's for the "metal" work like the clamps on the pauldrons and insignia on the left bracer and belt.

My question is if this is the right stuff to use or is there a better choice. That and if there are any tips on modeling using this stuff.

craft foam if you want it light weight and cheap. you could you clay and cast them if you really wanted to.

I made a belt & parts for AC2 from sculpey and cast them..

Here's a tute-like thing i had done for it Fevereon Props: Assassins Creed 2- Ezio's belt

The pauldron clips, & bracer plates were done in a similar manner
