Watching the new show, I have absolutely fallen in love with this lady's look:
49101581928_aff980893d_c.jpg

After trying to talk myself out of it for a while, I got Sean Fields permission to use his 3D model to make a run of kits:
49101581923_e9d0fd8111_c.jpg

I made a few adjustments in order to perfect the overall screen accuracy. Here's the result in the process of being painted:
49310800212_3ff968b15d_c.jpg

Here's a couple of the raw casts, fresh out of the mold:
49235092047_907b2b2f54_c.jpg

These helmets are rotocast in multiple layers of urethane resin for a strong, lightweight piece.

I'm 5'7" tall. Here I am wearing a raw cast for size reference:

I'm offering raw cast kits for $190 plus shipping. This includes a formed, tinted acrylic visor.

A non-refundable $100 deposit gets you on the list. The remaining balance plus actual shipping cost will be due once the kit is ready to ship.

Please post here if you'd like to get in on this run and I'll PM you with payment details.

UPDATE: As of now, I'm also making the rest of the hard parts for this costume. Here's the first chest and back casts out of the mold:

I got a bit excited and decided to spray the final color on the chest despite the fact that I didn't do any prep work. Ended up with a few fisheyes in the paint, but I think it still looks good:
49551217236_4091eb05f7_c.jpg

I'm planning on offering the two pieces of chest/back armor as well as the toe caps and belt greeblies for $480 plus shipping. A $200 deposit gets you on that list, with the balance plus shipping due once the kit is packed up and ready to ship.

Here's a pic of the belt details:

Here's a shot of the toe cap prototype before it was molded:
49506441102_f09875108f_c.jpg

The opening at the back is just under 4" wide.

So the parts are all coming along, but kits are available now for everything but the hammer.

Here's where my assistant Rachel's outfit stands at this point:
49553634823_ec86ae7ceb_c.jpg

For reference, she says she's 5'5.5" tall and has around a 32" bust.

I'll be making a larger version of the chest and toe cap soon as well.

I'm also making casts of her hammer. Here's a finished picture:
50146883181_90c0dc7627_c.jpg

And a rough-trimmed cast:
49598419181_bde146c171_c.jpg

If you want a raw cast of the hammer, the price is $115 shipped anywhere in the US.

Thanks for looking!

Work in progress while I've been smoothing out the print lines and fixing a few inaccurate bits on the digital model.

Here it is after the first Bondo pass:

And after the first coat of primer:

Clearly there's still a bit more work to do before adding the final texture coat and prepping it for molding.

Post here if you'd like to get in on this run.

This is sick, and since you are doing these I'm in , we love the show and your builds are top notch!! What is this, just a weird reflection? see my picture, I'll go back and watch that episode again, I don't see it in other images. PM me for the deposit info.
Thanks,
AL

PM sent. What you're seeing in that first image is the glare on the middle of the visor. Like you said, it doesn't appear from other angles and other shots in the show:

I'm curious, are there good reference shots of the back of her helmet or is it guess work? I have seen a couple models and was not sure which was accurate. Thanks!

I watched both episodes she is in and there is no good rear shot of her helmet, here is the best I could find.... Hopefully Shawn can show us the back of the helmet, Thanks....

Question is the final product going to cold casted? or are you still working out the details of the color scheme. Either way great job will probably be contacting you about this shortly.

Hi, been a lurker but registered for an account just to reach out to you for this. Looking forward to hearing from you. :)

I've gone frame by frame through both of the episodes she appears in so far. At this point, the best shot of the backside of the helmet comes from Episode 1. Here's what I've got after running it through some Photoshop adjustments for contrast and sharpness:

I can do cold cast for an extra fee, sure. It'd probably look pretty snazzy in bronze or maybe brass to make it a bit more gold-looking. I may also be doing a few experiments with mixing both metal powders together to see if I can find a color I like.

Work continues on accurizing the back and smoothing out the rest of the helmet. Here's a snapshot from the other night:

Then somewhere in the middle of sanding and filling:
49178173256_1b2e0432af_c.jpg

And in black primer at the end of the night:
49178384427_0b164651b4_c.jpg

I'll be working on the last few details and texturing the surface today. Expect to be molding soon.

So awesome nice work!!

Back details are now corrected:

So now she just needs her final texturing and gloss coat. Soon these other two helmets will be at the same stage:

My man I figured you might say something like this and after doing some cold casting myself I was wondering the exact same thing....if we send you a deposit do you want us to note that we are interested in a Cold casted version etc...or...just let me know. Not that a raw kit is bad but seeing a weathered cold casted version would be pretty slick I think. Let me know …. will wait to send deposit on your reply.

How about this: I'll do a couple of experimental pulls with cold casting, figure out what the cost difference will be, and post pics. If you decide you'd like to upgrade to cold cast at that point, let me know and I'll add the difference to the final balance when it's ready to ship.

Progress report...

Yesterday I added some texturing on the surface of the helmet. I started with Rustoleum glitter effect paint:
49199632062_2bccbd1b7f_c.jpg

I chose pink because I figured that would upset the most people:
49198934368_d05a55d449_c.jpg

Multiple coats gave the surface the sand cast foundry feel that I was looking for:
49198933378_6e28d1c611_c.jpg

After piling on four thick-ish coats of glitter, the next thing I did was spray on a couple of coats of Rustoleum Hammered silver to dull the grit a little and change up the texture a bit more:

49199426136_8ce8a09237_c.jpg

So there she is:
49199423876_8335b9ca0d_c.jpg

Today I'll be gluing in a piece of sheet stock to fill in the visor hole and then it's time to mold.
