armor coat

hey guys i finished making my armor out of foamies and some plastic stuff i found, anyways before i paint it and stuff i was wondering if their is some sort of material i should put on it to protect it or something also i want to know how to give give it a metallic look.thank you for the answers!

When I made my girlfriend's female predator armor with foamies, I applied several coats of epoxy resin. In the past I've used white glue too. For the metallic effect, you can simply paint the whole piece in matt black and then dry brush your desired colour (silver, gold, copper). Or you can do the opposite: paint the whole piece in silver, and then apply a wash with watered black paint in some areas. Search the huntorials and help section carefully, there might be some useful painting tutorials here.
