It just did! Bought myself one of those calendars! :lol

In regards of the jig... Why not just cut that whole section of the grapple gun, and make a separate piece by making a mold with the precise "ridges" or "heat sink" detail; pour some resin, and add the complete piece, instead of going through all that hassle?

I just caught up with your last few vid's. Excellent approach, I think routing out the heat sink gave you some pretty sharp edges. I don't think you’d been able to get that sharp of an edge with a mold.

Matt, I think you should take the best looking finished body with these grooves and mold it. You could get one done with no seam line in the grooves by making a multi-piece silicone block mold. AND it'll be a new trick for you to learn and add to your arsenal!

Since i am only making three, and thr grooves are already cut, i really have no need or reason to mold it. Still, i appreciate the suggestions and love the dialog. Chatting about it and hearing new ideas always gets me thinking in new directions, so please keep them comin!!

Just a little suggestion - how about a steady work bench, that you could bolt your machines to? I get nervous watching you saw stuff on the floor, or with a vise jumping all over the place. ;-)

I would love that, and it's definitely on my list of things to add to the shop. I've got a few pieces of equipment that are higher priority than a new bench, BUT they will require a new bench.

And I assure you, it terrifies me more than it does you :lol

I spent MANY hours today doing sanding and putty work on the handle and main body. They are just about ready for a coat of primer. I REALLY need to let go of the perfectionist in me, as I would get things done a lot faster. But alas, I cannot!

I hope to have a new video out before the weekend to show my progress.

I just watched the videos the other day, I've been holding off until you had a bunch to watch at once Really great work, on the build and the vids.

To add to your discussion on filler putties, Bondo Gold sticks to styrene very well. It's a premium version of regular Bondo, lime green color and not too much more expensive.

Your work with the jig to cut the grooves was very clever. If I were to make this, I would have cut that section out of the MDF master and built it up with styrene strips, using another strip as a spacer.

I've already got a few things in-flight, but I am considering taking on something else to do as a video build. Not sure right now, but we shall see. I'm certain this will not be the last of the video builds, that's for sure.

Google cutting mat.

You can get them locally at most Michael's and Hobby Lobby Stores. They aren't cheap additions to the arsenal. They can probably be found cheaper on line, though.
